Book Reviews of Goodnight OpusBook Review: Say Goodnight Opus. Goodnight Opus! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great book from cover to cover. From the fantastic "child supervision necessary" warning in the front cover to the wonderfull finale. This is a story that adults will enjoy reading to their children, and children will love hearing. The first time I read this it was to my 3 nieces aged 8,10, and 12. They loved it, and I love snuggling on the couch with them and reading this story. My dad listened in, and he loved it to. It is just so much fun, and so imaginative. Definitely worth a 5 star rating.
Book Review: A lesson for all ages Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great takeoff on Margaret Wise Brown's classic "Goodnight Moon." (And much kinder than the other takeoff I've seen, "Boom Baby Moon," which is kind of sarcastic.)My eight-year-old is severely handicapped and has a mental age of approximately 2-1/2 years. However, "Goodnight Opus" is one of his (few) favorite books. He asks for it every night, and it's one that I don't mind reading over and over. He'll say it along with me much of the time. Berke Breathed has hit the nail on the head with this one.
Book Review: 22 and over 300 times Summary: 5 Stars
You might say that im a little too old for this book, but hey age is just a number. My obession with this Opus began in 1995 when my little sister brought home to me "Good night Opus" Before that i had a couple stuffed character Opus. She didn't care for the book but she knew I liked him. It is a real good book to read when you are down or just want to depart from the text. I love Opus and it was a real shame to see Berkley Breathed go so soon. I'll miss his style
Book Review: Goodnight Opus by Berkley Breathed Summary: 5 Stars
This is an amazing book.....all children should have it I read it to my nephews every night probably for 2 yrs....they couldn't even talk but knew all the parts ...the tooth fairy...the boats....everything awesome!! The other Berkley Breathed books are also worth the time to read them to your favorite child..They have a VHS tape out with Opus I got at Blockbuster..don't know it they still have it?
Book Review: Charming Summary: 5 Stars
Both charming and mesmerizing, Berkeley Breathed has created an endearing bedtime story for his greatest creation, Opus. Even at 30+ years old, I can still sit down on any given night, and take 10 minutes out of my evening to be swept away to to the marvelous Milky Way and remind myself that sometimes, it is perfectly normal and quite a bit of fun to depart from the text, even if just for awhile.
