Book Review: Great Bedtime Book

My nearly-1-year-old has been enjoying this book just about every night (often multiple times) for about 6 months now. He loves to lift the flap himself to see the inside of each tri-fold spread, and he's quite aggressive about needing to turn the pages himself to show that he can do it (on occasion the opened flap won't close all the way and he gets quite frustrated by the one-second delay in starting the next page). I read the 'Good Morning' words with a louder, more sing-songy tone than the 'Good Night' words, and by the last good night page my son settles into my arms and yawns. By the way, the puppy page on my book also has different wording from what the other reviewer says. It's "good morning, little puppy - are you digging in the ground? What kind of special treasures are waiting to be found? Good night little puppy, don't you make a peep -- you've dug and played for hours, now it's time for you to sleep." Our favorite page is the chick: "Good morning little chick! Are you saying a nice hello...to the wiggly worms and flowers beneath the grass below? Good night little chick -- snuggle in your comfy nest - your day has been so busy but now it's time for you to rest." The book covers a kitten, puppy, bunny, chick, lamb, and "little one" (child at the end being tucked in to bed). We also recommend "Who Do You Love?" from the same series. I can quote any line from either book and my little guy will look up at me and smile...and then of course go try to find the book.
Summary of Good Morning, Good Night!
This touchable book is perfect for bedtime! Children read about the activities of a cute and cuddly animal in the daytime, then open the folded pages to reveal the furry, touch-and-feel animal sleeping after its busy day. The final spread is a child who can be "tucked in" by the reader with a soft and fuzzy tactile blanket.Animals Books
