Book Reviews of Good Eats: The Early YearsBook Review: Just as entertaining as his TV show Summary: 5 Stars
I couldn't decide if I wanted to spend the money on a "Good Eats" book when I could watch "Good Eats" on Food Network for free every evening. I'm glad I decided to get the book, it's a great companion read to the television show. Lots of "behind the scenes" info about the episodes I've seen a dozen times. Having the recipes in the book make it easier than repeatedly printing them off the website. Can't wait for the "Middle Years" and "Later Years" to be published!
Book Review: Entertaining and Useful Summary: 5 Stars
As a fan of Alton Brown I could not pass up the opportunity. The information is clearly presented and entertaining. If your a fan of the show the side bars contain trivia about the making of the episodes. If you not a fan you can go right to the meat of the book and use the recipes for some terrific meals. I have already made several of the recipes, and they have all been wonderful. This is a great resource to have in the kitchen, even if you're not a fan.
Book Review: Outstanding book, more then just recipes Summary: 5 Stars
I have over a hundred recipe books and this new addition to my collection is by far the best to-date. Not only are all of the recipes in this book very good but the information from Alton is outstanding. Alton Brown is not just a chef, he's a culinary genius who knows the complete science of foods. Every page on this book is a learning experience. I highly recommend this book to experts and beginners alike - this is one book everyone could use.
Book Review: Good Eats is Good Reads Summary: 5 Stars
I really enjoyed reading the book, it almost felt like you were watching the episodes. Alton Brown writes like he talks, with all the quirky science stuff and the humor.
I would recommend this book to those that enjoy his show and for those that like cooking, and for those that have never seen his show, it would direct them to the show to see what all the hoopla is about.
Book Review: It Reads Summary: 5 Stars
Thank you Alton Brown!
This is exactly what I wished for. A book that not only memorializes the recipes from the first 80 shows that I neither wrote down nor save on the DVR, but presents them Alton Brown style. The book has the recipes, interesting notes and tips and other interesting minutiae.
