Book Reviews of Gone Tomorrow (Jack Reacher, No. 13)

Book Review: Better Than the Reviews
Summary: 5 Stars

I've read everything by Lee Child and find him one of the better writers in this genre. So I was surprised to see only a 3.5 star rating when I got this book. I read it anyway because it's Child and his character Jack Reacher. It was very good, intense and riveting.
It's at least a 4.5 book, so I checked out the reviews to see what had happened. Specifically, I checked out the reviews that were one star. Turns out those reviews were given by people who didn't like the price of the Kindle version of this book. Turns out their one star reviews were a protest against Amazon.com and have nothing to do with the quality of the writing. Now that's really intelligent.

Book Review: LOVE it - Don't Miss this
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a HUGE fan of Lee Child and his Jack Reacher series. I'm a fan of mystery/thriller type books anyway, but Lee Child is amazing. His books are rich in detail, excitement and suspense. This book is no exception. Reacher is back in New York and is both a witness and participant in a terrible death. I like to think of Jack Reacher as being a modern, rugged cowboy-ish version of James Bond, except the cool gadgets he uses are the result of his own quick thinking.

If you are a fan of this series, you won't be disappointed....except when you get to the end and realize you have a long wait until the next book comes out!

Book Review: One of the Best
Summary: 5 Stars

Lee Child is one of my favorite authors and he continues to deliver. Gone Tomorrow is the latest and one of the best.

The reader is ensnared in the first few sentences and the hold does not loosen. It is a page turner of the first quality.

Whether the reader begins with this novel or the first in the series there is a virtually guaranteed high level of satisfaction. The main character, Reacher, is a man to admire and respect. His lifestyle of homelessness has an intriguing appeal.

If you are looking for a fun and exciting read with quality action and plot, obtain a copy of this book.

Book Review: Lee Child does it again
Summary: 5 Stars

Lee Child does it again. Jack Reacher finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, or is it the rights place at the right time. Either way, he is there to resolve what could a disastrous problem for a presidential wannabe. "Gone Tomorrow" does not disappoint. There are twists and turns and things that make you wonder. There is also a lot of action and unfortunately, graphic death. You would think that with each new Jack Reacher novel that Mr. Child would run out of ideas to excite the true fan, but not yet. I think Jack Reacher will be collecting social security before these stories run out. Great job, Lee Child.

Book Review: Love, love, love, Lee Child
Summary: 5 Stars

Jack Reacher always seems to find himself in the most precarious situations when even an innocent subway ride turns diabolical. Full of the usual twists and turns, Gone Tomorrow is fast-paced .... on the par with his other novels, full of intelligent and interesting plot development and characters who come to life almost immediately. I started reading this novel out loud to my husband on a long car trip. When we got home, we fought over who would ultimately take this one to bed to finish it. I won. Reacher's my favorite unlikely hero; Lee Child is a master----just wish he was more prolific.
