Book Reviews of Gone Tomorrow (Jack Reacher, No. 13)Book Review: The Real Jack Reacher Returns! Summary: 5 Stars
Welcome back, Jack Reacher! I was disappointed in the last book,"Nothing to Lose", because I thought the story grew tedious. However, "Gone Tomorrow" is a real page turner and a credit to Child's Jack Reacher series. I don't care if an author's political views differ from my own - when I read a novel I want to be entertained. This smart, well-written book certainly was a good read, and I'll never again take any form of public transportation without scanning for the twelve signs of a suicide bomber. Other reviewers have gone into the plot lines, so I'll forego relating the story other than to say it involves terrorists on American soil. If you are a Jack Reacher fan who has been holding off on this book out of disappointment in his last one - you are missing an exciting thriller. Lee Child is back on track!
Book Review: Nearly impossible to put down Summary: 5 Stars
Although this is the 13th installment in Lee Child's series featuring Jack Reacher, I am a relative newcomer, having only read four from the series. With that said, Child has quickly worked his way onto my "must read" list. The three prior books from Child were absolute page turners and Gone Tomorrow brought more of the same. Child grabs the reader in the first few pages and does not let go. Reacher is a great character.....physically and mentally tough. His tenacity, perseverance, ruthlessness and survival instincts are on display throughout the book, leading to a very compelling story full of twists and turns. Simply put, start to finish, this is a great novel that I found to be impossible to put down. I will definitely be going back to fill in with the other books in the series that I have not yet read.
Book Review: Rating the price is not the same as rating the book Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this in hardback, and thoroughly enjoyed the book. Per one reader's comments there were less than accurate facts in the book, but come one - it is a work of fiction!!
I am getting tired of looking at reviews for books, and seeing multiple one star reviews - then upon checking them out, find out they are reviewing the price of the Kindle edition and not the book. Amazon has repeatedly informed people that the price (including the Kindle price) is set by the publisher. If you wait a few weeks it goes down to the promised $9.99 for a hardback. I too have a Kindle, and if the book is not one of a series I collect, and the Kindle price is too steep, I wait!!!
Stop reviewing the price and start reveiwing the books.
Book Review: GONE TOMORROW by Lee Child Summary: 5 Stars
Lee Child is the greatest! I am a "Reacher Creature" and have read all of his books. Amazon made it super-easy to get the latest book, with no trouble...just took me one click!
I highly recommend Child's books. There has been talk of making at least one of his books into a movie, but I can't think of an actor that could play Jack Reacher...he is just the coolest protagonist EVER! My imagination makes him better than any real-life actor could be. One of the best scenes, from BAD LUCK & TROUBLE, was just perfect: Jack and three of his ex-Army pals walking down the Strip in Las Vegas, with a guy coming up behind to kill them all. Reacher saved them all, of course! So fine!

Book Review: An intricately plotted winner from Lee Child Summary: 5 Stars
A lot of times my favorite authors let me down. Perhaps my expectations are too high, but when I read I want a story and characters that I care about. Lee Child has never let me down in that regard. Jack Reacher is one of those bigger than life characters for whom you always automatically root. I found the plot in GONE TOMORROW to be compelling and engaging. The plot was rather complicated, so attention is needed. I read the book over the course of two afternoons, and couldn't wait to get back to it on the second day. There are plenty of good and bad guys which as with many Reacher novels are hard to which is which, but that's part of the fun.
Highly recommended.
