Book Review: Terrific book

This book is so sweetly written. I love that it always goes back to the idea that God specifically sent each child to his or her parents and how he/she is unique. My daughter enjoys seeing the mommy bear with a big belly and talking about how babies are in the mommy's belly before they are born. I will say she has become kind of obsessed with this though and likes to put her stuffed animals down her shirt now and tell me she has a baby in there. She's 2 and a half and I have many friends who are pregnant so I suppose this could be a normal stage too. :) Might also be a good book if your child is expecting a baby brother or sister.Book Review: Amazingly beautiful and moving...

We gave this book to our 8 year old son as a First Communion gift. The book is the moving story about a young bear asking his mom if his parents love him. The story continues as mama bear explains to the young cub how God have given them the miracle of his birth and walks the cub throught the pregnancy, the waiting over the birth of the baby, the first night at home, and so on. Our 8 year old son loves to cuddle at night and listen to the story of a mom and dad who are so thankful to God for the gift of their cub. Beautifully illustrated and written, this book is a gift to share between parents and their children.Book Review: What a wonderful story?

I started reading this book to my son when he was first born. He is three now and we still read it multiple nights a week. Now when we get to the page where the mom says every night she prayed for the baby my son says "you prayed for me right?" and when the baby bear says she loves God he says "I love God, do you mama?". These are such special memories. I read some of the negative reviews of this book about social stigma and blah blah blah...it is a beautiful story about a mom putting her child to bed and talking to her about how special she is and how much they wanted her. A loving book that gently explains to a child how very special they are to God - how they were created with great love and the parents were specially blessed with the birth of their precious child - a gift from God. It's heart-warming, tender and sweet. The story is easy to understand from a child's perspective and each page is full of interesting, colorful pictures. The perfect gift book to give or receive. I bought one for each of my Grandchildren when they were born and wrote a special message inside, significant to each one. This book is wonderful!! It explains the subject of where we come from in a thoughtful, truthful, and biblical manner. It's heartwarming, and my daughter absolutely loves it. She feels so special (as she should) when we read it and apply it to her. We actually have used this book to talk a little bit about the upcoming birth of our next baby. My daughter completely understands that her mommy's tummy is going to get bigger and bigger as the baby gets bigger and bigger just like the polar bear in God Gave Us You.
