Book Reviews of Go, Dog. Go!: P.D. Eastman's Book of Things That GoBook Review: The First Book I Ever Read Summary: 5 Stars
Although my parents frequently tell me I was reading from cereal boxes and newpapers before this, the first time I vividly remember reading a book was sitting in my Aunt's lap and happily stammering through "Go Dog Go." The many colors of dogs and the way they got around intrigued me as a four year old and my (no pun intended) dog eared copy of P.D. Eastman's Suess-like rhymes stayed on my shelf for a long time after I'd grown out of this leavel of learning skill. Get it for your youngsters, it will make them happy to try and follow along.
Book Review: Great for travel, whatever the duration Summary: 5 Stars
This little board book is perfect in size and shape for toddlers on the go. We use it (along with other Bright & Early Board Books) for our 2 year old when we travel, go to grandma's house or to a resturant. After several readings, our son delighted in telling us the story in his own words. It's the perfect length that young children can both comprehend and remember the whole story. The illustrations are simple enough for a small child, yet detailed enough to give our two year old something to study. Our copy is well used.
Book Review: A truly delightful story for early toddlers Summary: 5 Stars
We may have to purchase a second copy of this board book for our next baby--our 15-month-old son has just about worn this first copy out. We average reading this fun book at least three times a day, not to mention all the times I catch my son sitting alone and "reading" the book to himself and laughing out loud. We really like to animate the story, making a big deal about the "dog party" at the end of the book. The sheer delight on our son's face simply mirrors our own with this fun romp.
Book Review: Must-have book for toddler Summary: 5 Stars
Go, Dog. Go is without a doubt my son's new favorite book. It's a great mix of colorful, creative characters; straight-forward story telling, and dogs driving cars!
My son loves "reading along" while my wife and I read this book aloud, the illustrations are perfect for the text on the page. This book, and Are You My Mother? (Beginner Books(R)) are must-haves for any toddler who loves books.
Book Review: Hot Dog! Summary: 5 Stars
Because this was a favorite of mine, I couldn't wait to share it with my own children. Now that we know that it is never too early to begin reading to our children it is great to see familiar favorites in a board book format. The colors, sound patterns, and feel of the book appeal to my 6 month old, and the silly illustrations and nonsense rhymes appeal to my 3 year old. They don't know this is the beginning of a lifetime of reading enjoyment. They only know they want to hear more!
