Book Reviews of Glorious Appearing: The End of Days (Left Behind)Book Review: Left Behind ----Finale Summary: 5 Stars
The end of the series. It was kind of sad to come to the end of such inspiring reading. To read of the coming of our Lord and Savior as seen through the eyes of survivors of the Great Tribulation. Just Wonderful!
Book Review: Glorious Appearing Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent follow-through on the first 11 books of the Left Behind series. Continues the story in a well thought out manner.
Book Review: Last days of earth continued Summary: 5 Stars
This may be listed as a fiction, but it is a must read for anyone who reads and believes the Bible!

Book Review: Good ending to overly-drawn out series Summary: 4 Stars
I think everyone here knows what the Left Behind series is about, so I can dispense with that part of the review. I thought the first 4 books had a novel plotline, interesting characters, and really nail-biting escapes. Plus, there was a lot of character flux because important people really did die. The next 4 were so-so in my opinion, and the last 3 were interminably boring. But having read 11, I couldn't give up at the very end.
I felt GLORIOUS APPEARING to be a good ending to the series. Not a lot was going on (i.e., we all know exactly what is going to happen), but the pace was decent. I had a lot of qualms about having Jesus show up in a piece of fiction; almost every time this happens, He is made to be a mouthpiece for whatever politics so-and-so has in mind. The authors avoid this dilemma by having Jesus speak only words from the Bible. You would have to actually read the dialogue to see how well this is carried out; The Word speaking the Word is very effective and avoids any charges of making God in our own image.
GLORIOUS APPEARING is hardly literature; the message is straightforward, there are no surprises, and it's a quick read (maybe 5 hours?) But hey, not everyone wants to spend their life reading Calvin's INSTITUTES or Augustine's CITY OF GOD. Some find the theological content dubious, but again, it is fiction and I can enjoy it without worrying about whether that is really the way it will happen. GLORIOUS APPEARING is a light read that should remind Christian readers of God's love for us and the need for us to remain faithful to the end.
