Book Review: Everyone has a special gift

The one thing that I came away with in reading this book is that all of us have special gifts. We simply need to take stock in our own special talents. Being a neurosurgeon is just one of many things for people to become in this world. As Dr. Carson said, "Its not what you do, it's how WELL you do what you do. Striving for excellence and giving back to your community is the key to a successful life. All honest work is honorable. Money and fame are not the only measure of nobility. This man is to be admired for his faith, endurance, vision, character and integrity. A true hero for our modern times!!Book Review: Motivational and a fresh aspect on life.

I knew nothing about this book until my brother handed it to me a couple weeks ago and told me it was a good read. I was so interested in the book it took me two days to read it (I live a busy life so I'm usually really too busy for reading). Ben Carson is an inspirational man who doesn't seek out accreditation. I think that it would make a great book for someone who needs a little push to continue on and get a new view on life (especially a college student like myself). I'm getting ready to buy it for a couple of my friends as part of a birthday present. I will read this book again! It's wonderful!

I am currently a student journalist majoring in Communications. When I began reading this book, I was almost ready to give up on my career and my education. This book literally changed my whole perception of my life! I absolutely love this book! Being a young African-American woman from the same type of background as Ben Carson, I realized that if I focus on my faith and my God-given talents I could do anything I want. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who needs a little motivation. I am now enjoying school and reading more inspirational books. My next book will be Think Big by Ben Carson.Book Review: A book for everyone to read. A true success story!

His mother, Sonya Carson was truly more than a Mother, she was one of his most valued role models.Furthermore, she provided the tools he and his brother needed to be good boys, men and fathers. The obstacles and triumphs he endured through his formative years were precious tools to enable him to become the person he his today. Through this book, I could feel the great human being. Even though there are many difficulties in the life, people can get over their catastrophic circumstance and their unhappiness with the trial and the sacrifice like Dr, Ben Carson, who grew up in poverty and faced racial discrimination. I could feel the grief and the frustration of one man in this book, but soon I could also learn the overcoming process and the result of trial in it. I want to recommend this book to everyone who suffers from many problems and I am certain that they will able to obtain hope and courage through this book.
