Book Review: Making the Impossible Happen Summary: 5 Stars
Few autobiographies hold the reader's interest like Ben Carson. This courageous surgeon makes the impossible happen. The tension and suspense Dr. Carson builds makes this book easy to recommend for both adolescent and mature readers. Dr. Carson examines many of the challenges he faced in becoming a surgeon. He ends his work with a riveting description of an operation where he and a colleague separate a set of Siamese twins joined together by the brain. Book Review: A Gifted Neurosurgeon's Biography Summary: 5 Stars
Dr. Ben Carson is living proof that we are NOT mere products of our environments. He overcame a broken home, bad temper, and racial inequality to become a great man, loving father, and famous Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. In this well paced, informative biography, Carson speaks about the different goals he set for himself throughout his productive life and how he, through patience, hard work, and faith in God, went about achieving them. This was an enjoyable biography, an unusually humble one from someone in the medical profession who has earned every right to brag about his achievements, yet who deliberately avoids doing so. You will enjoy reading this book.
Book Review: Helping Hands Summary: 5 Stars
I would recommend this book Ben Carson to other people. It has all of the elements of a good book. It had suspense, surprise, wonder, imagery, happiness and sadness. It helps you experience life through the eyes of a doctor who must perform a grueling task If I was one of the doctors I do not know if I could stand the long operation, or the task of operating on infants. I especially liked the part when all the staff in the operating room offered to give blood, because that shows how much they put into saving the lives of these two boys. I only wish I could have finished the book because I want to know if they lived. Ben Carson is good writer who knows how to tell a very exciting story
Book Review: A wondeful book about a wonderful man Summary: 5 Stars
This book is really wonderful, I had the honor and priviledge to meet Dr. Carson a few years ago and he is every bit the person he says he is in "Gifted Hands". This remarkable book is about how one person can change their entire course with the help of Jesus Christ, family, love and respect.
I highly recommend this book because it is filled with warmth and love of a mother for her children. It also is filled with hope, inspiration and encouragement to all.
Dr. Carson is a wonderful father, husband and friend to all who know him. It was an honor to meet him and his wonderful wife Candy. May God continue to bless Dr. Carson and his family.
