Gideon is the second book in Jacquelyn Frank's new series "The Nightwalkers". In it we see more of the complex world that Ms. Frank has been able to present to use and we are reintroduced to fabulous past characters and wonderful new characters.
Gideon is the oldest of the Demon's, he is their healer, who carries pain and guilt with him from past events. Magdelegna is the youngest sister of the Demon King, Noah. In the past book Jacob, she was a victim of a Summoning by Necromancers, magic using humans. Magdelegna is attempting to move on with her life from that event. She is quickly growing into her powers and is still angered and hurt over a past event with Gideon. As Gideon and Legna spend more time together, due to Necromancers attacks, they find themselves drawn more to each other. They find themselves unable to resist one another and having to deal with their feelings for one another. In Gideon all species of Nightwalkers are being attacked and we are introduced to two species of Nightwalkers, who end up helping the Demons fight.
This book was a quick, thrilling, intense read. I laughed, cried and brought out ice cream for some of the sizzling scenes. Ms. Frank, yet again, made her world believable and someplace I would love to visit. Gideon will definitely be joining my "keep pile". Ms. Frank's next book in the series is Elijah, due for release January 2, 2008. I can not wait to read the next chapter in Jacquelyn Frank's fantastic series, The Nightwalkers".
