Book Reviews of Ghosts of Onyx (Halo)

Book Review: Another hit for Nylund
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow. After reading this book I had to just sit for a while and let my mind digest the amazing read. I didn't think it was possible for Nylund to write a better book than Halo: The Fall of Reach, but Ghosts of Onyx threatens to be just that. My copy of The Fall of Reach is literally falling apart at the seams from being read so many times, and I suspect that Ghosts of Onyx will soon do the same. This book hookes you fast, and keeps you on edge till the end. My only complaint is that the book is not the same size as the first three, so it doesn't quite "fit in" with them. EDIT: Just noticed this is a new edition of the book that I belive is the same size as the others.

NOTE: Some fans may be disappointed by the fact that John117, the main character from both the games and the other books, has almost no part in this one. While this may come as a shock at first, the newly introduced characters and return of some other favorites more than make up for everyone's favorite Spartan being MIA.

Book Review: Halo The Ghosts Of Onyx
Summary: 5 Stars

The book I read is called Halo the Ghosts of Onyx. Halo the Ghosts of Onyx is about the third generation of Spartans. Kurt, a Spartan 2 leads the program. But after master chief destroys Halo in the book Halo the Flood, an old and advanced technology has reawakened and it has plans of its own.
My favorite part of Halo the Ghosts of Onyx is near the beginning. It had bad language in it but the bad words are said by a 6-7 year old boy which kind of makes it sound funny. There are other parts I liked but I do not want to say them all because it would ruin the book. Halo the Ghosts of Onyx is the fourth in a series of six books. Many times in the book it will jump around from past to present which makes the book very challenging. Overall I thought that Halo the Ghosts of Onyx was a very interesting book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Sci-Fi and survival novels.

Book Review: Halo - Ghosts of Onyx
Summary: 5 Stars

A truly epic tale of some of the other heros of the Halo universe. Awe inspiring and action packed, this novel is a must read for all. The Halo universe, games and novels, tells one of the top 5 greatest sci-fi stories of all time, in quality and quantity. This is a must have for TRUE Halo fans, and simply a really good sci-fi novel for those that aren't. This novel and all of the others in the Halo universe are fantasically written and are very easy reads. Each novel tells a truly awesome story and blends the action, drama, and even comedy very well. Kudos to this author and the others that have contributed to this amazing tale. I hope the Halo franchise and universe continue to evolve for a long long time.

Book Review: 5/5 - A Great Addition to the Halo Universe
Summary: 5 Stars

Ghosts of Onyx is a superb addition to the books of the Halo series. While the Halo Trilogy (The Fall of Reach, The Flood, and First Strike) all focus on the John-117 (The Master Chief), Ghosts of the Onyx focuses on the heroic acts of another Spartan named Kurt.

The action in the book is great. This book adds onto the Covenant Civil War, as well as reveals some of the cracks in the Covenant foundation and its attitudes toward the Flood/Halos. The book also reveals some details behind the SPARTAN-III Program and the doings of some of ONIs top officials.

If you liked the original Halo Triology books, you'll love these.

Book Review: Halo: Ghosts of Onyx
Summary: 5 Stars

Halo: Ghosts of Onyx by Eric Nylund is a suspenseful book that kept me turning the pages. It is a science fiction book about a Spartan super-soldier named Kurt, who is in charge of the Spartan III training program. Time is running out and Kurt and his allies need to find out the secret of the planet Onyx. This book is rated 5 stars by my standards, for the amazing storyline that has no problems easily seen. Anyone who is looking for a book with action and a great storyline straight throughout the whole book, Halo: Ghosts of Onyx is the book for you!
