Book Review: Lord of the Bow Summary: 5 Stars
third book in Genghis series is the best can't put it down can't wait for next one!
Book Review: Well done historical fiction Summary: 4 Stars
This is the second in Iggulden's series on Ghenghis Kahun. After being captivated by the first in the series I could not wait to get this one and I was not disapointed. The pacing is great with a great blend of interesting character developement, epic historical events and intense action. I love the way Conn has brought the characters to life and made their actions seem so natural for the circumstances. While Genghis is portrayed as very ruthless and willing to commit horibly violent atrosities, his human side is also shown and we see an idealistic side to Genghis too. It can be seen as an expose of the empire building of the last 5,000 years which continues even today. If you like historical fiction with some good action check it out.
Book Review: Much better than the Emperor series Summary: 4 Stars
Conn Iggulden really brings the character of Genghis Khan to life, in a way that he couldn't with that of Julius Caesar, maybe because Caesar is almost a godlike figure. Genghis seems very much a flesh-and-blood man. His descriptions of life among the tribes and his take on the Mongol mindset ring true to this reader. An excellent series so far.
Book Review: Whoa, but this dude is a solid writer! Summary: 4 Stars
I have just recently found this terrific writer. Even though this book ain't as good as the first one, it is still a great action filled thrill ride.
Highly recommended.
