Book Review: Great tie in book.

In my opinion this is a great read. I love the game and was thrilled that there was a book. One of the best parts for me is having played the games I can see the places described. Karen Traviss does not waste time describing something shown in the game but she does detail things that were not in the game. Having read most of the Halo books I knew this book could be good, bad or a great addition. Take it as you will, but for me I think it is an incredible addition to the Gears series.
I bought the next book right after it came out and can not wait for the next two.

I feel Karen Traviss, the author, did a very nice job with the Gears story. I really enjoyed reading it and I hope she will do another. My only issue with this book is that it was way short! It was a fast and easy read that left me wanting more. Questions were answered about life for Dom and Marcus before the first Gears game, but not all. Other questions were raised. She really did a good job filling in the gap between the first and second Gears games. This book is not about E-Day so don't start this book with that expectation. They need to save that story for the movie!!!Book Review: For real gear heads

This book gives you the best before story you can have. Tho the book has a few twists that the game never had, it makes you hope for some diffrent thing in the third game. There are still many questions to be answered that this book doesn't go over lik why the locust attacked or how delta came to be, but you get an even better line of the mysteries of delta after the light mass and the attack in aspho point that changed the course of the cog. Great read and if you are a true gear fan you will get this and jacinto's remnant to get the full story of the gearsBook Review: Good Novel - Provides Background

Without delving too much into the plot of this book, I have to say that it is an essential read for any GoW fan. The background to the storyline is very interesting, and provides context to understand the characters as they are in the games. The book uses flashbacks to accomplish this, and anyone with the reading ability of a high school senior should be able to understand it. In addition, those who complain about the lack of action should play the game if they want action. The point is to develop the characters.Book Review: Like Gears? Get the book!

If one of the people who really enjoyed playing campaign in Gears because you enjoyed the story, Aspho Fields takes it to a completely new level. Its very well written and does a great job explaining why Delta squad is how they are. A few new characters are introduced, but the heart of the story is Marcus, Carlos, and Dom. All the questions that were left in the back of fans minds get answered in this book and then some. Its very satisfying to have all those holes in the story filled. A+ for me. Get it for sure!
