Book Review: A awesome book worth reading

This book was awesome i am a huge GoW fan and the book complements the games very nicely. it explains allot about every aspect of the games. The book flipped from 14 years after Eday and and before Eday during the Pendulum war. some other posters left some bad reviews about how it was dumb that it did flip between the two times but i have to say they are wrong and by flipping between both times(14 years after Eday and the Pendulum war) it gave you a history of how the COGS began and there purpose and by doing so it answered allot of questions and explained why the plant Sera is they way it is present day. when you read the book or play the game you see the planet Sera they are on and it has been ravaged by 90+ years of intense war.i guess without a understanding of the history of everything and not flipping back to the past one always wonders why and how things got to be and by knowing a history it adds so much more to it.at least it did for me, its allot more than just a game with cut scenes explaining a few things in between. the book explains allot about the major characters also. It would like to see the next book focus on Eday in great detail and hopefully more books will follow because this is one of the greatest stories and there is so much more they could write into more books.I just finsihed the book the other day and during reading it i could not put it down, i think i am going to read again here soon. it is well worth the time to read and a great story. i also thought the author described things with great detail for example when she described the locust getting chainsawed it made you feel as if you was watching your tv screen and chainsawing them yourself while playing your xbox !Book Review: A great buy for Gears Of War Lovers!

I LOVED THIS BOOK.
I had just gotten this book from my mother on my 16th birthday and it was great! When I played the game, I absolutely LOVED it!(Haha yes there are ALOT of us girls who love gears) And I was hooked! The same way I was when I first played Halo. Well since then, I was excited for the next game Gears Of War 2. And just wanted to know more about the characters. And so I search online and what catches my eye? This book! And thats when I told my mother about it and she bought it on my birthday. So, why should YOU buy this book? Because this author did a good job, the way she digs deep into the characters. Its amazing. There were a few parts that made me giggle too. And a few that made me feel sad.( I swear...I was so close to crying too ) And a few that made me feel so excited dying to read the next part!!! So to sum it up. This was well written. Seriously. I kid you not. But I would recommend that you play the games first so you dont feel a little confused. So...buy this book! You wont be dissapointed.

Gears of War Aspho Fields
If you liked either of the Gears of War games and you like to read books then this book is for you. I got it on Monday and I could not set the book down. It is well worth reading. Many people have stated that this book raises more questions about the whole story and the time line thereof. In my opinion this book answered far more questions for me than it left unanswered. This is the first Gears of war book, I would love to see several more in the coming months or years but, preferably months. This story fills in a lot of the gaps left by the storyline of G.O.W. and G.O.W. 2.

If you like the Gears of War series of games then you will definitely enjoy this book. You will get a very good view of who the characters of delta squad really are; there's obviously more characters that you will read about but the spotlight is mainly centered on delta squad. This book holds a grim realism as compared to the games where the characters seem impervious to death.
As you progress into the book you will find out how Marcus met the Santiagos and how their lives were before they joined the cog. Every character is distinctly different and has a sad story.
All in all, a good book at about 400 pages; it's worth the $15 in my opinion.
Book Review: Great story for any Gears of War fan!

This is a wonderful addition to the Gears of War storyline and any fan will enjoy it. The story moves between two time lines, before and after the first game, and helps fill in a lot of the details omitted from the story in the first game. Unfortunately it is not a good pick for people unfamiliar with the game storyline as it does rely on familiarity with this for some points of reference. It is well written and full of detail which draws the reader into the world created on the pages, my only complaint may be how short the story was, 385 pages in a slightly large font, I finished it in one afternoon. Overall I still give it a 5 out of 5.
