A bit on the bland side.
A fun idea though, crazed aliens who can destroy time escape through space gates, and a group of people try to hunt them down.
The sword and sorcery type cover is a little misleading in that respect. However, the one hunter we pick up is stuck in a low tech world, in trouble, trying to take down one of the bad guys.
After losing a war she is stranded in one of the Gates for about a century, and comes back to find one of the locals, an outcast type because of a fight with a brother that got a little fatal.
She takes him on as a ronin, and it appears everybody now doesn't like them. Her one advantage is energy weapons, a sword that can suck you into the spacetime gates, and of course, advanced knowledge.
A lot of the story focuses on the local bloke and his relationship with his other surviving, crippled, brother, though. This is certainly not the most interesting thing going on her, as we find out Morgaine and the aliens she are after can do serial immortality via victim.
I'd give this a 3.5 if it was more about her, less about the stuck in the middle outcast bloke, so a 3.25 rounded up.
