Book Review: Misrepresented-no star!

I ordered the Get a Grip Safety Bar. It came from Before The Store. It was nothing like the picture;it was chrome-painted thin plastic. It didn't have the safety lights. And it would fall off the wall without even pulling it.
When I e-mailed the company, they didn't even question me, just said don't bother sending it back and they would refund the money. I believe that they knew it was a cheaper product and just hoped that they would get away with it. I feel that Amazon should remove this link.

I bought these for my mother, who has bad knees and has trouble getting up stairs and into and out of the bathtub. I was disappointed when she said she wasn't using them because she was afraid they wouldn't stick. When I went to visit her, I attached them to several surfaces, all of them flat, clean and dry, as instructed. I could pull them off of each surface and wouldn't trust them to hold anyone, especially an elderly person who could fall. So, don't buy these!!!Book Review: not happy - one star is too high

GET A GRIP SAFETY BAR . It fell off the wall, two feet from the floor, and fell apart. it appeared that the little pin that holds the suction pressure tab in place, fell out and I have no way of knowing how to repair it.
I saw another one similar at a medical supply store (the color different) I wondered if the one I purchased from you was a cheap copy of a higher quality one, on display at the store.

I bought Get a Grip handle for my 86 year old mother-in-law who weighed 115 pounds. I followed the directions perfectly to make sure it was safely installed. In a few weeks, her home care assistant told me it had fallen off when my mother-in-law grabbed it and thought I should know that it was unsafe. I would not recommend this grip; in fact, it should be taken off the market.Book Review: Unsafe for elderly

I purchased this product for the safety of myself and my 85 year old mother. Fortunately, I used it first as an aid to balance. It comes off the shower wall with absolute minimal effort. My mother would have needed to use it with more force. Had she done so, there would definitely have been an accident. If you really need bars for safety, have them installed.
