Book Reviews of Fuzzy Bee and Friends (Cloth Books)Book Review: Favourite first book Summary: 5 Stars
This was my baby's first book. She started noticing it at 6 weeks hung over her crib. By 3 months she was touching the book and fascinated by the crinkle sound and extra appendages on all the pictures. Now at 1 year she is beginning to grow out of it (her current favourite is the counting bug book). but we have had many months of fun. The blue irridescent beetle wings are now faded and the dragonfly wings limp. This book was part of me learning to learn to read to my baby and my little girl learning to touch, hear and chew. I bought other Priddy books but this is definitely the best (squishy turtle was OK but the shark was too scarey).
Book Review: Must have for little future bibliophiles! Summary: 5 Stars
Everyone agrees how important it is to start reading to your baby as soon as possible, but the trick is finding books that can interest them at a very young age. I love our cloth books for that reason! Fuzzy Bee and Friends is one of our favorites. The colors, strong contrasts, and different textures are very exciting to our three month old and have been for the last month! He has just started turning pages, and likes to look at and touch the images almost as much as he likes to try and wedge the whole book in his mouth. The text is short, and the rymes aren't obnoxious so reading it is still fun even after the 100th time.
Book Review: If you get ONE book for your infant...make it this one. Summary: 5 Stars
This book is SO FUN for babies! They can easily turn the pages, shake it around, put it in their mouth, bang it around - and it doesn't get damaged like even a board book would! My 6 mo old loves the crinkly cover and different textures and color of fabrics in this book. I feel safe giving it to her to play with even if I'm not right there to supervise her with it. If you get ONE book for your baby, make it this one. You won't be disappointed. Note: I bought this in store and only has 8 pgs so I think Priddy Co. must've condensed the original book. Too bad they cheaped out on us...but it's still worth the money.
Book Review: My baby girl's favorite!!! Summary: 5 Stars
We received this book as a gift before our daughter was born. From the time she was born, she's had a bookcase full of baby and toddler books, but this one is by far her favorite. It was the first one she really took interest in...at about 6 weeks old. I think she loves the bold, bright illustrations. Up until she was about 5 months old, she'd go through a seriously fussy period in the evenings...nothing could calm her down like reading Fuzzy Bee! It worked like magic. She's 6.5 months old now and still loves it! We also have Squishy Turtle -- it's also a hit but not to quite the same degree.
Book Review: Misleading Title, but Stellar Book Summary: 5 Stars
Overall, this is a great cloth book for infants and toddlers that you can trust in their sweet, slobbery hands without fearing bumps or paper cuts! The pages are filled with bright colors and the crinkly noise makes it irresistible.
However, the title is completely misleading. Fuzzy Bee only appears on the cover, and there is no proof that Baby Worm and Ladybug are actually Fuzzy Bee's friends. The book shows no interaction between them. Fuzzy Bee's character is not developed. A better title for this book would be "Garden Friends" or something along those lines.
