Book Reviews of From Julia Child's KitchenBook Review: THE book to teach you the essentials Summary: 4 Stars
This book is really refreshingly simple compared to all the incredibly complicated recipes one seems to find lately (most of which don't taste too good). When I first bought it I was a little disappointed as it contained a lot of talk and few recipes. However on trying the recipes I fell in love with Julia's detailed instructions, they make difficult things easy. It was my first time making chocolate mousse and cheese souffle and they both turned out perfect. I give it 4 stars rather than 5 because I would have liked more variety.
Book Review: Great book, miserable edition Summary: 2 Stars
This is one of my all-time favorite cookbooks, well-used and well-worn. This new bargain edition is better than not owning the book at all, but it is really cheap and poorly made. The graphics all appear to be photocopies. The line drawings look awful, but at least they are "readable." Many of the photos are so dark that you can't tell what they are supposed to represent.
I would look for a used copy of the original edition.
Book Review: From Julia Childs Kitchen Summary: 2 Stars
Was not really very user friendly. Very difficult to follow, unrealistic for the every day woman & fixing family meals.
