Book Reviews of French Women Don't Get FatBook Review: the common-sense way to approaching life and eating Summary: 5 Stars
I have owned this book for a few years now and I still enjoy reading through it even though I could easily recite all that is in it and have probably recited it to a lot of my patients. This book attempts to revive common sense and to re-teach us how to enjoy life and eating. There are no magical diet tricks and no magical ingredients: eating in moderation and exercising have always worked in losing weight and maintaing weight loss respectively. The really special attribute of this book is that it attempts to teach us the frame of mind we need to learn to enjoy eating less, savoring meals, cooking, taking the time to pick our produce, and learning to slow down a bit and be mindful of our lives.
Book Review: Changed my life Summary: 5 Stars
This book absolutely changed my life. I was SOOO obsessed with how much food I was eating and what I was eating, I was obsessed to the point where I could not enjoy what I ate, I regretted everything "bad" I put into my mouth and just was a mess because I love food!
Then this book came along. This book showed me how to enjoy and savor food, especially in a way I couldn't before. Ms Guiliano showed me guilt free ways of eating and without it, I would still be a mess (or worse!). This book changed my life in SO many other ways as well, the way I look at things, the "little miracles"--she called it--everyday made me a brighter and more optimistic person. I highly recommend the book.
Book Review: A great book that makes you rethink your lifestyle Summary: 5 Stars
I really loved reading this book. There is so much great and common sense information in here. I think it is all about getting back to basics. I have friends who are on "diets" that consist of salads and diet cola. If we learn to eat right we can still enjoy delicious foods! I am a big advocate of "everything in moderation". It is okay to have dessert! Portion sizes in America are way out of whack and I think that along with all the processed foods we consume are the biggest contributors to obesity! Eating better foods and seasonal foods are the way to go! This book made me rethink the way I eat and I highly recommend it!
Book Review: This book cahnged my life! Summary: 5 Stars
I have read this book at least ten times to really adopt the "French way" of eating and I lost 25 pounds with no feelings of deprivation. My whole life is filled with so much more quality all the way around. I ride my bike every day and take long strolls in the evening. I eat dark chocolate and drink wine with dinner. I take long lunches and linger over coffee and fresh baguette in the morning. As you can see losing the weight was a joy and thanks to this book I live in the moment taking in life's pleasures and staying slim just like a French girl. BUY THIS BOOK and let it change your life too.
Book Review: Yes! Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book at the beginning of last summer and it really stuck with me.
Three months later I was 10 pounds lighter and a million times happier.I lost weight, but more importantly, I began enjoying life more and felt better about myself and how I looked. This is truly a lifestyle book--not a diet book--that, if you follow its teachings, will without a doubt help you stay healthy--physically and mentally.
