Book Reviews of Fool Moon (The Dresden Files, Book 2)Book Review: Another success for Jim Butcher Summary: 5 Stars
The second book in the series about Harry Dresden is a resounding success. (IMHO) Despite the backlash of the events of the first novel, (Storm Front) Harry presses on to discover who is repsonsible for a series of gruesome murders that appear to have been committed by a werewolf. This story gives us a little more detail on Harry's background and opens many a question and line of investigation for Harry. (Its all about the parents...) This book was a pleasure to read and will remain with the 'keepers' of my library. Mr. Butcher has produced a well plotted and tightly written yarn that is sure to delight.
Book Review: Must read them all! Summary: 5 Stars
These books are great! If you love science fiction you will love these books. The author is funny, witty and holds your interest from cover to cover. I ordered the complete set and read through it in a week! I hope they bring the television series back to SciFi. It is more entertaining a series that SciFi brought back, Dr. Who, or as I call it "the doctor's non habit forming sleep remedy"! I'm going to reread them soon since I enjoyed them so much! I'm sure there were things I missed on the first go around. I'm also looking forward to the next book in the series.
Book Review: Even better than the first!! Summary: 5 Stars
Jim Butcher has a lovely Chandleresque writing style and it just gets better with time. Fool Moon is a few months after Storm Front and Harry's fallen out of the fire and into the frying pan, helping his friend Murphy track down some werewolf killers. We learn a bit more about his past, his history and his (bad) relationships with women. Harry somewhat reminds me of Robert B. Parker's Spenser -- action oriented with a sarcastic mouth. Just throw in some magic and a talking skull named Bob. Fool Moon is a bang-up, knock-down fun ride and you shouldn't miss it.
Book Review: Jim Butcher has a hit with this series Summary: 5 Stars
I have really enjoyed both of the books in this series. They are well written, imaginative, and have some of the most interesting characters I have come across in quite some time. If you have not read book one, "Storm Front", and are looking for a good new series to curl up with, I encourage you to buy these two books now and get in on the fun. I wish Mr. Butcher all success, and hope we get to enjoy his wonderful world for a long time to come. Looking forward to book three in the "Dresden Files".
Book Review: Just a spectacular series! Summary: 5 Stars
This was actually the first Dresden book I read. Not knowing anything about the series other than what I'd heard about the TV show I thought I'd give one a try. I'm so glad I did.
Butcher had me hooked on the first page. Harry, Murphy, Bob...all the characters are interesting and engaging.
I picked this up last November and in these 3 short month have read the other 9 (and 2 of the Codex Alera and Backup). There was no going back.
Do yourself a favor. Read these books!
