Book Reviews of Five Chimneys: The Story of Auschwitz

Book Review: Everyone should read this
Summary: 5 Stars

I was captured by this book. It is amazing what the human body and mind can endure. Also appalling what horrors humans can put upon each other. I was afraid it would be too graphic or depressing but it was quite the opposite. You get a very good idea of what it was like, i.e., the point is made. This book is a lesson about civilization and I could not put it down.

Book Review: Like watching a car wreck when you know you shouldn't gawk
Summary: 5 Stars

One of the top few books I've read about the holocaust. Riveting. Couldn't put it down. One of those "stories" that really hook you - you can't wait to see what happens next and you're a little horrified that you're reading it so avidly and enjoying it. At the same time you feel such sadness for the people who lived (and didn't) through it.

Book Review: You will feel like your are right beside Olga!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best book on the holocaust I have ever read! I read alot on the holocaust, and it was so well written, I felt like I was standing right beside Olga! I first got interested in the holocaust after Schlinders List, which was the greatest movie ever made, OIga's story makes it seem like a fairy tale. Just incredible!

Book Review: An account all should read
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a powerful work. I could not put it down - it is written so elegantly. To put experiences such as Ogla's on paper takes so much courage; that alone makes this book a "must read." Take some time to educate yourself about what occurred in the past to prevent it from happening in the future.

Book Review: Difficlt to read but should be read
Summary: 5 Stars

The cold truth comes out in this book. How she survived (among others) is still a mystery of human spirit. Excellent account of the holocaust. The author brings up the important point that not only Jews were victims, people from many lands and religions suffered, even the Germans.
