Book Reviews of Five Chimneys: The Story of AuschwitzBook Review: Sad, deep and moving... Summary: 4 Stars
It is a story of courage, survival, strength and dedication. It is sad and moving... Everyone should read it just so the great evil of Nazi Germany would not be forgotten. We can not allow it to happen again. This book shows just a small chapter in the life of a woman in the concentration camp. It shows how regular everyday actions such as a drink of water could get you killed. It shows brutal and inhuman side of the guards. It shows how one person could help hundreds and hundreds of people and save them from death. Now why not 5 stars if this book is so great? Well... This book is an account of the person deeply affected by the events in the concentration camp (and rightfully so), but this leads to inconsistencies and little of false information being passed to the reader. Again this was not done intentionally. Every word written about life and torture is absolutely true but information about camp structure and chain of command is slightly distorted. But at the end it is a sad story that should be read and remembered.

Book Review: This book gives us an insight into the Auschwitz- Birkenau Summary: 4 Stars
camp system. Instead of an epic length, statistic and detail filled account we are instead presented with one woman's ordeal, and the author does not fail to convey the full brutality of her treatment at the hands of the Nazis and their accomplices. While her recollections are vivid (this book was originally written in 1947) the author is able to convey events without focusing on the grotesque in excrutiating detail. This book is not for the faint of heart, but it is a rewarding account of a life in the camps. The book will stay with you long after you've read it.
Book Review: Very moving. Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very well written and documented story based on true facts from an actual survivor.Olga puts us in the cruel but real world that jews had to live in the holocaust days.To survive is a feat in itself....mastered with luck, wisdom and hope that one is not included in the everyday selections to the chambers.I liked reading it mostly because i could feel everything happening.
