Book Reviews of Fit for Life llBook Review: Inner Hygiene, the Key to Health Summary: 5 StarsYou are what you eat! Taking lightly? Give your body rest after you eat, because during nightly hours it is preoccupied by absorption of the goodies you put down there, while you sleep. Do you need a big "breaking the fast"? Heck no! When you awake, your body is still in the absorption mood of nutrients and needs fasting. But no: Then there comes down bacon, eggs, milk, and all, saucages and gravy, and the body in its wisdom says: "Hey we better store this for a rainy day!" You wonder why you have a problem with obesity? Read the book, girl! Read the book, man! Trampolining is a good way of rebounding to stimulate brain and all. Here is to your health, Gerborg
Book Review: Afterwards you'll know how to get and stay healthy, for real Summary: 5 StarsI'd like to start by saying that I think everyone should read Fit for Life first and then Fit for Life 2 - Living Health. This second books summarizes well the facts illustrated in the first book, but you will get a much better picture if you start with the first book. Also, it will probably be hard for most people to make a lot of changes in their lifestyle together, while it will definitely be easier to somewhat change your eating habits first and then expand your healthy habits adopting some (or all) of the suggestions you'll find in this 2nd book. This book is not only about losing weight, as a thin person is not necessarily healthy. It's not just about looking good, it's about feeling good and treating your body how it deserves and then seeing the results on the outside, as well. This book gives a very good understanding of how everybody, no matter their age, can be healthy and feel great and have a better life, and it explains it all very simply, so everyone can read it and understand it. I also found that the recipes in this book are much better than the ones in the first book. A few days ago I made "ice cream" using frozen mango, bananas and strawberries and my whole family loved it! Only afterwards I told my husband that there was no milk nor any sugar added, and he could not believe it! My husband is also starting to get over the common view that "healthy things don't taste good", and believe me, I am a picky cook. I am Italian, I love cooking and I was always convinced that a meal should leave one satisfied. And the book really gives you the awarness you need that WE ALL NEED to do something to keep healthy, because IT'S WORTH IT! Now I am eating well (that means I am eating healthy but I am also satisfied about my meals), I have enough energy to take care of my house, my 2 years old daughter and my numerous hobbies, and exercise, I am feeling better than I had in the long time and I am losing weight! What can one ask for more?
Book Review: Fit for Life Summary: 5 StarsFit for Life has enlightened me to health problems I endured during my teenage years. The main problem being MILK. Chronic skin problems, sinus problems and alergies, I believe were all attributable to milk. I have stopped drinking milk and have drastically reduced the intake of milk for my family. In the long term I believe this will have enormous health benefits for them all. The logical and clearly described myths by which the remainder of the Western world lives in regard to food, as described in Fit for Life has the biggest impact of all the information in the book. The analogy I liken the presentation of this information to is the idiocy with which Mankind is currently managing pollution. The Car is the number one polluter but like Milk and red Meat the problem is too difficult to deal, with so we continue believing all is in order as we head down the well walked path to the ruination of the Western Society. The simpliest solution is always the best. The Diamonds propose the simpliest solution that has no risk and only upside. I would like to personnally thank the Diamonds for there work and I believe the study of Natural Hygene should be actively promoted by all Medical schools and the stupidity that is taught today to doctors about the 4 basic food types irradicated from their learning.
Book Review: A brilliant book Summary: 5 StarsI think this book is brilliant and I also think that all people having health-problems should read it.
Book Review: Out there - but some value Summary: 2 StarsI found this book to be way out-there. It is definitely NOT what every other diet book will tell you. It's kind of hippie-ish, love-child, utopia, weird. I was expecting NUTRITIONAL information - but all I got was "everything natural." Like don't shave your pits kind of stuff. I don't know, as a gen-Xer, I can't really buy into this. Like not using chemicals in my kitchen or bathroom for cleaning and "fresh air" is the only air freshener. It's just a little too rebellious for me. I like to be a balanced person -- this is a level of "perfection" or a "set of rules" that I could never attain or stick with.
