As a fan of the Camel Club and Sean King/ Michelle Maxwell series I have read the entire collection. "First Family" is just plain good reading.I call it a "potato chip book".One chapter isn't enough ; it's one after another until it's all done.I recommend that readers new to David Baldacci read some of the earlier stuff or the "First Family" will leave them wondering what went on before this adventure. It answers a lot of questions about the characters and situations established in the earlier books. I look forward to his next book.Book Review: The First Lady Has Secrets!

First Family is the follow-up to Simple Genius. Private investigators (and former FBI) Sean King and Michelle Maxwell are summoned by the First Lady to find her favorite niece Willa, who's been kidnapped. Baldacci has become what I think John Grisham saw himself as--a savvy plotter and story teller. Plenty of subplots, twists and turns--there's politics, scandals and plenty to keep you interested. It's a good summer read.

Great story! I was in my local bookstore and another customer highly recommended this book. I came right home and ordered it from Amazon. I didn't want to put the book down. Couldn't wait to read it thru to learn how all the "pieces" came together! Wonderful descriptive characters. It certainly provides an interesting account of Secret Service, FBI actions and the First Family. This book would make a good movie, as well. First Family is a book that you can hardly put down.....it has a lot of characters involved, which you have to sort out after a few chapters, but it is a fantastic page turner.....a 20 pointer out of 10....it is that good....I read it in a couple of days....I just did not want it to end. I have read all of Baldacci's books, and I would have to say this is his best one yet....may he continue to keep us on the edge of our seats. William B. You should direct your complaint toward the publisher and amazon and not the author. Posting low ratings is not fair to the author, if you want to complain about the price send your complaints to the customer service departments of amazon and the publisher.
