Book Reviews of First Family

Book Review: Good author
Summary: 5 Stars

I have always enjoyed Baldacci's books and this one didn't disappoint. It was a little slow going getting into it, but it did pick up and hold my interest. Fans of Baldacci won't be disappointed.

On another note...I think it's crazy that so many people have given this book 1 star based solely on price and I really think Amazon should remove all non-reviews of the actual book material. If the rating is based solely on the price of the book it should be yanked to be fair to the author. Because, honestly, at first I wasn't going to get it based on the average star rating shown on Amazon. It was only after I read the reviews, and realized 90% of the one star reviews were from people crying over the book price, that I reconsidered. It is really unfair to the author.

Book Review: FIRST FAMILY SATISFIES BIG TIME
Summary: 5 Stars

David Baldacci has written another page turner featuring Michelle and Sean, and a host of plot twists that keep us riveted to the unfolding events. Baldacci is masterful at tying things together that seem to just hang there unrelated to the main story. There are no loose ends or unnecessary plot lines. As one travels through FIRST FAMILY the connections become clear. The pace quickens. We can feel the heart throbbing excitement as characters plunge headlong into their destiny-good or bad. Those who have read all or most of Baldacci's books don't need much motivation to read FIRST FAMILY. They will not be disappointed in his latest. Enjoy !

Book Review: First Family
Summary: 5 Stars

I was glad to see that David Baldacci has written a book that is up to what has been his usual standards in most of his previous books. The last "Camel Club" book written by Baldacci was very lacking (weak, with an improbably story and was what I call a "formula" book written by a popular author who sells books based on his name and the quality of his previous books. First Family had a more plausible story, more complex and involved, suspenseful and developed characters in greater depth, revealing both their strengths and weaknesses. It was a "great read", and I hope Baldacci's future books are up to this standard.

Book Review: Capitol Hill lies
Summary: 5 Stars

I retired from Capitol Hill so I know first hand about the lies and cover ups and back room deals - but Baldacci is an expert at putting them on paper and in your mind. If you are interested in politics at all - in tea parties and the lying pablum that citizens are fed every day then you will revel in this book. It is well written, excellent in suspense, accurate in political subterfuge and keeps you guessing until the end - when you shout YESSS, because for once the bad guys get hurt and not the public. Great book - excellent author - do not miss.

Book Review: Great book
Summary: 5 Stars

David Baldacci creates an impossible situation with believable characters. When the president's niece is abducted after attending a birthday party at Camp David, the question is why? Why are private investigators Sean King and Michelle Maxwell hired to locate the missing child? And what does the abductor want? Why has he kidnapped another woman along with the child? So many questions, which all get answered as the story unfolds. This book had me on the edge of my recliner as I read each chapter wondering where is was headed and why. Great book.
