Book Reviews of Finding Lost: The Unofficial GuideBook Review: Finally, a well-written Guide for the TV series LOST Summary: 5 Stars
I waited with anticipation and some apprehension for the publication of yet another "LOST Unofficial Guide." I've been disappointed in the past, but this book was well worth the wait. Ms Stafford has done an excellent job! Her book is informative, insightful, and just plain fun to read! Like most "LOSTies," I'm interested in the theories and all the other interesting details and tidbits about the series, but just don't have time to search for "easter eggs," interesting tidbits, even small mistakes. However, I do enjoy reading about them and discussing them with other "LOSTies." She not only gives quite a lot of information about the series, but gives brief overviews of the books mentioned or referenced in the series.
Book Review: Don't get "Lost" without it! Summary: 5 Stars
Being a latecomer to the "Lost" phenomenon, I was looking for a guide without too much publicity fluff that would help clue me in to all (or most) of the insiders' info: all the theories, back-stories, easter eggs and literary/cultural references that are packed into each fascinating episode. "Finding Lost: The Unofficial Guide" is just what I was looking for. The book is organized by episode with lots of extra features that are great for the "Lost" fan who missed discussing this show at the watercooler the first time around. Nikki Stafford has put together an informative, fun and fascinating book that I would recommend to any fan of this series.
Book Review: Not so LOST anymore... Summary: 5 Stars
While I wait between seasons, I purchased the first 2 seasons on DVD's and have been watching an episode or two, then reading Nikki Stafford's take on it. She gives a lot of insight - things I haven't thought of or noticed. I like the way she has organized the episodes and the extra information, like book reviews and information on the actors. I had not realized how much I had missed during the first 2 seasons and reviewing like this has been a lot of fun. Ms. Stafford names the best fan websites and she seems to review them all, which saves me a lot of time. When she publishes her next Unofficial Guide to LOST, I will buy it.
Book Review: Enlightening and entertaining Summary: 5 Stars
I was a casual Lost viewer, loving the show, but missing a lot of the connections and details and feeling like there was so much more. I happened to pick up Nikki Stafford's book and it was one of the best things I could have done.
Nikki gives such detailed analysis of the episodes while still keeping it light and fun. The sidebars are fascinating and the cast bios interesting.
Reading this book raised my enjoyment of Lost to a whole new level and turned me into the rabid Lost fan I am today :)
Book Review: The best of all the books I've read on "LOST"! Summary: 5 Stars
I recommend this book to every LOST fan that I know. I was very impressed with the comprehensive coverage of each episode, including dozens of little details I would have never noticed on my own. The writing was intelligent and kept my interest, and unlike the other reviewer stated, I did not notice any errors (that's the kind of thing that drives me crazy, so I hope I would have noticed!) I can't say enough good things about this book, and I am excited for Ms. Stafford's books on the four remaining seasons.
