Book Reviews of Finding Fish: A MemoirBook Review: Finding fish review Summary: 5 Stars
The book Finding Fish written by Antwone Fisher is a heart felt book. It tells the story of a young man who goes through trials with not only himself and friends, but with his abusive family. This book will show how easy most of the world has it and how many take things for granted. Young teens should read this book because it relates to many of the situations that we go through daily. It shows that also children that who are going through the same thing are not alone. This book has taught me that life can be so much worse. I thank the author for written this book because it can change people lives.
Book Review: Finding Myself Summary: 5 Stars
I could not put the book down! I had seen the movie and enjoyed it very much before reading the book. Now that I have read the book it has given me even more insite on this brave mans life and what he was put through as a young child. After reading his story it made me appreciate more of what I have and have gone through. It has changed my outlook and has made me more aware of a childs feelings. They may not always share with you their thoughts or feelings, but now I know even more that they take everything in and hold it there.
Book Review: an unusual find Summary: 5 Stars
This book reminds me of a blend of classics such as the Native Son, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and the Color Purple. The story is told by fish from a child's perspective, therefore many of the details become almost humorous as we picture the behavior of adults as they hypocritically abuse Fish and his brother while professing a transparent reverence to God. The sprit of Finding Fish is similar to a Tree Grows in Brooklyn: the protagonists were both resilient children, who survived abuse.
Book Review: Amazing Story with Great Ending Summary: 5 Stars
As a former juvenile court magistrate, I know that the story of Antwone Fisher should never have happened. But it did, and does, frequently, in Ohio and the 51 other states, DC and Puerto Rico. What seldom happens is the kind of ending we have here. This book tears at your heart, makes you want to becme a guardian ad litem for every child in the foster care system, and raises your awareness of your own blessings.A killer book from a fine writer with a great ending. A keeper.
Book Review: Reading Excellence Summary: 5 Stars
This was one of the best books that I have ever read. I found that the story was well told and it was fun to read. I liked how Fisher uses description to make the story more interesting. This was a great book and I would recommend you to go out and read this book if you like to read new stuff then this is the book for you. After you read the book see the movie they are very similar not like the other book, movie relationships. The movie is just like the book.
