Book Review: eye opening to say the least....

I just finshed this book after reading Mr. Ramsey's Total Money Makeover which I also recommend. I am just starting my path to financial freedom(and a spelling class, my typing is bad so please be kind to me). I am just starting on in the first few steps, setting up budget and getting an emergency fund together, but I am hopefull for the first time in a long time about my money and having it work for me instead of me working for it. I do suggest to get the planner if possible, it is helping me find strengths and weakness in my understanding of our family funds. Good luck and if we all take Mr. Ramsey's advise to heart and action we will one day be shouting "freedom" aka braveheart style like on his radio show.Book Review: The "Nuts and Bolts" to obtain Financial Peace

Dave Ramsey takes a practical approach on how a person can take control of one's money and get out of debt. A millionaire gone broke and now successful, he relates because he has been there. "Financial Peace Revisited" is refreshing, easy to read, and offers hope because their is a way out. Not only are the basics touched on such as following a budget (including forms) and eliminating credit card debt, but the book also covers a range of topics such as credit reports and dealing with collectors. For investing, Mr. Ramsey keeps it simple recommending, for example, mutual funds for their diversity and professional management. Unlike a text book, I think you will find this book financially life changing.Book Review: financial peace...in times of MONEY WARS.

While Dave Ramsey is somewhat of a pariah in some financial circles, his work and advice have been the salvation for many hurting financial souls. Most prominent is his protestation to despise debt, which short circuits a concept that has become fashionable in America today. Although a money conservative, his own story is riveting and appeals to the old-fashioned "go kill it and drag it to the cave" mentality. His unabashed Christian world view is refreshing, and his advice works for the non-Christian also. This unprententious multi-millionaire is an American success story and any would benefit from his advice! A solid, easy read, with much good practical advice.Book Review: THANK YOU MR. RAMSEY ! ! !

Absolutely life changing. Rich or poor, you have to read this and apply it to your life. I read Financial Peace Revisited in one day; simply could not put it down. Only months after listening to his radio show I have dumped over $14,000 in debt, have set up an emergency fund, and I'm well on my way to being debt free (other than my home)in a matter of months. Not a lot of people can have this type of effect on you, and after reading this book, you will have a different outlook on every dollar that passes through your hands. I really cannot recommend this book enough and I only wish I could have read it 10 years ago after receiving my first paycheck.Book Review: Get out of debt and stay out of debt

For years, Dave Ramsey has taught people how to get out of debt, save, and spend in a reasonable fashion. While "The Total Money Makeover" tells you how to get out of debt and stay that way, "Financial Peace" tells you why you should do it.
I read this while attending my Financial Peace University class as a component of the course, and while I've worked Dave Ramsey's baby steps for several years now, it's always refreshing to study the material again.
