Book Review: Lucy, you can be in the show!

I'm happy to see that Janet Evanovich has not succumbed to the longevity-itis afflicting some purveyors of long-term series. "I Love Lucy" was a hit until the end precisely because the creators knew their audience and they delivered.
We knew that Ricky would never let Lucy into show business, Fred and Ethel would bicker forever, and Mrs. McGillicuddy would never remember Ricky's name.
That's the way a series works best.
As television progressed, the writers felt it was necessary to have their beloved characters develop. So we had Murphy Brown becoming an unlikely single Mom, Rachel and Ross getting married, and so on.
I love Stephanie Plum and her retinue of sidekicks just the way they are. Thank you, Janet! You always deliver and never disappoint.
Book Review: Great Fun Read

First, the "con": I missed some of the old characters that weren't in the book as much but this story just wasn't about them. There was enough of them in there, like Grandma, to get your laughs.
But everything else is a plus. Some great new zany characters. And very definite laugh-out-loud moments. You do see Ms. Plum growing up and improving in her abilities in spite of herself. The more she admits her shortcomings, the more she's becoming a true hero. She can't become totally good and professional or where would the laughs be?
I was almost afraid to put the money into this book after reading so many negative reviews. But I need not have worried. This is still one of my all time favorite series. Quit analyzing, sit back, and enjoy the fun!
Book Review: As good as anything Janet has ever written

Not sure what is going on here. What my husband and I adore about the Stephanie Plum series is that we always know what we're gonna get - a relatively fast, fun read that grabs us from the first sentence; quirky characters we know and love, and who don't disappoint; a few laugh-out-loud moments; and one of the few, very few, series we both genuinely enjoy and can discuss together. Those who reminisce so fondly about the early installments in this series should maybe go back and reread those books. I really believe this one is just as good. I find it amazing that Janet Evanovich is so very consistent. Every Stephanie Plum book is a treat. I liked this one a lot. And I can't wait for the next one.Book Review: Whose toes were they?

After two appetizer books, it's fantastic to get the main course of Stephanie Plum and her odd assortment of friends again! The "usual suspects" are there (Morelli, Ranger, Grandma, etc.), and we are introduced to a few new ones (Gary the stalker, Mooner the "stoner" and Zook the who knows?) The plot might be a bit thin, but then most of the books have thin plots. The main enjoyment comes from the ridiculous scenes, and the snappy dialogue. There are the usual assortment of fires, explosions, car crashes, angry dogs, etc., to keep any Plum fan happy. Perhaps the series is showing it's age a bit, but I still find it tremendously funny, and a good way to spend a few hours of free time.Book Review: Fearless Fourteen

Love this book! Love the whole Stephanie Plum series!!! It always has me laughing out loud:-)They are a fun reading experience! My favorite character is Grandma Mazur but I have to say, all the main characters are fantastic, Stephanie, Lula, Joe Morelli, Ranger and don't forget Bob and Rex! All combine to make the bounty hunting experiences of Stephanie hilarious!! A must read for those looking for thrills, romance, intrigue and comedy wrapped up in one book!!! I am impatiently awaiting the next adventure with Stephanie and the gang:-)Fearless Fourteen (Stephanie Plum, No. 14)
