Book Reviews of Fearless Fourteen (Stephanie Plum, No. 14) (Stephanie Plum Novels)

Book Review: The end of the line or just a fluke?
Summary: 2 Stars

My bottom line reaction: If this was the first book I read, it would have been the last. I've read everything available from Janet Evanovich. I was a very late arrival to the Plum series four years ago, but eagerly got up to speed quickly. Could not wait for 14 to come out. And it was a complete disappointment. So at this point I am conflicted. Maybe this one was just a dud? I am commenting now, because I found myself checking the reviews for 15 before buying. That I did not immediately buy it speaks volumes. I see others had the same experience with this installment, and hope that the author isn't just selling out and treading water, but as other reviewers have mentioned there is no real forward movement. It's more like stale soap opera story lines than exciting page turner at this point. It was a good ride, though.

Book Review: An ok read
Summary: 2 Stars

I do agree Evanovichs' earlier books were great and as the series goes on the storyline quality goes down. Sometimes these books are too sily. I have read all the books except two of them 6 and 11 because they were boring. Ranger was barely in the book and shockingly Stephanies' car and apartment never got blown up. When is Stephanie going to stop being childish and grow up? When is she going to get at least engaged to Joe? Its obvious her and ranger arent going to be in any type of committed relationship. Stephanies bounty hunting skills still suck, her relationship with Joe never goes anywhere, Ranger is just this mysterious person...Well maybe number 16 will be good whenever thats coming out, maybe in 2010.

Book Review: Save your time and your money!

Ok Ms. Evanovich, I'm going to give you one more chance
after this and then I'm done with Stephanie!.. As a big
fan of Evanovich's earlier Stephanie Plum novels, they are
getting increasingly stale, boring, and repetitive.
And, if she head slaps herself or Grandma does something totally
unbelieveable AGAIN, that's it for me.
ENOUGH!
What happened to the humor and fun of SEVEN UP????????
I never thought I'd say it but Evanovich has failed to deliver
again!
AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT THINKS IT'S TIME FOR GRANDMA MAZUR
TO MAKE HER "FINAL" TRIP TO

Book Review: Couldn't finish this one....
Summary: 2 Stars

I LOVED this series so much that I couldn't read them fast enough. But there came a point when I started to get bored with the same plot line and the same endings. There definitely needed to be more developed between Stephanie and Joe or Ranger. I started to get excited around book 10 or 11 that we were finally going to get somewhere and by the time I read this book, I realized that it was more of the same without the spark. I couldn't finish it and I haven't bought another in the series since. I just read the summary for the 16th book and it appears to be more of the same. Such a shame.

Book Review: Plum stupid!
Summary: 2 Stars

I'm happy to say I picked this book up at the library---so I don't feel any sort of buyers remorse on this one. My big question is what happened to Janet Evanovich's ability to tell a great story? She has good basics. Stephanie, Morelli, Grandma, Ranger & Lula, Bob and Rex, why does she have to add crazy plotlines and annoying characters that are hard to care about, like Mooner, or Zook or wood elves. This book should have either gone straight to paperback or back to the author for major revisions.
