Book Review: a new fan of Mrs. Glasser

I am a great new fan of Mr.s Glasser's work, re: her new book, "Our 50 States," which is absolutely amazig in it self, So, thought I'd first start with her "Fancy Nancy" book. What a joy to view such iilustations like this, with such movement through the characters body's and faces, that express so well what they are thinking.You can tell how her prior career as a soloits, and principal dancer with the ever loved Pennsylvania Ballet, shines through her work now with such wonderful movment through the characters bodies. A true joy. I will now need to look into her oher books.Book Review: If you have "fancy" girls in your life, this is a terrific book!

My granddaughter is a fancy girl. At almost age 4 she is rarely without her tiara and jewelry, even when wearing her pj's (which should of course really be a nightgown, preferably well-trimmed with lace and pink thank-you-very-much). I purchased this book for her for Christmas and enjoyed reading it myself. Now it has become her favorite book. The nice part is that as an adult, it's not just tolerable to read over and over again; it's enjoyable. So, we no longer wear purple at our house, we prefer "fuschia" because afterall, that is a fancier word than just "purple."Book Review: Perfect for a princess!

When I saw the cover and title of this book, I just knew it was perfect for my granddaughter who is just like Nancy! The star of this book doesn't like anything to be "ho-hum"...she dresses fancy, decorates fancy and acts fancy. This book has become a new favorite and since there are several in the series, it should be easy to find a gift when needed. My daughter came home after work the other day to find her girls all dolled up their dress-up clothes and they had even convinced daddy to dress up in a tie so he could be fancy, too! My granddaughter (age five) loves this book because, like Nancy, the more ruffles, flourishes, and flounces an object has, the better she likes it. My elementary schoolteacher daughter loves this book because her fourth-graders' adverb and adjective vocabularies expand painlessly because reading this easy story is fun. I liked this book because Nancy's family is so middle class--not affluent, not deprived--and is so understanding of their little prima donna. The illustrations add a lot to the story, being realistic with just the right touch of whimsical pizazz.Book Review: Sooo Cute!!

I got this book about a month ago. My 5 year old daughter fell in love with it after the first reading. We had to read it 4 more times right in a row. I think it's because she can relate to Nancy who is sooo FANCY. My daughter loves all the accessories that Nancy uses to help her family become "fancy" like "Nancy". I think my daughter really likes it because there is someone else out there that likes to be "fancy" just like her!! This is a great book. We can never read it just once!!! Read it and enjoy it and then try to become Fancy like Nancy!!
