Book Reviews of Fairyopolis: A Flower Fairies JournalBook Review: Not at all a rip-off. Summary: 5 Stars
Although some say it is a rip-off and of poor quality, I beg to differ. They are seeing it from the point of view of Candlewick Press and those who have read Wizardology, Egyptology, and Dragonology.
If you had not read those books and picked this one up, you would be enchanted by the beautiful artwork, and while there is not a lot of it, it is beautiful nevertheless. I will say, however, that Dragonology, Pirateology, and Wizardology are more fun to look at and play with, but this book is incredibly satisfying to read.
It is a story, rather than a handbook or guidebook, and that is what makes it original. I applaud this book, and love it dearly.
Book Review: More real stories Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book with the "If You Could Only See .. A Gnome's Story." What a great combination, thanks Amazon. Both offer REAL accounts of the fairy realms, and gnomes kingdoms. Just right for the times. Fairyopolis explores a specific encounter in Sussex, and Dr. von Lahr's A Gnome Story is an exploration of fairies and gnomes from many years of direct channeling as a psychic medium. What they both deliver is Real Encounters. Great work Cicely. So many of the nature spirit books are delivered as mythical accounts, but now, we have some first-person descriptions.

Book Review: So Awesome! So cool! So fairyific! Summary: 5 Stars
Cicely Mary Barker has really outdone herself! This book is even better than Dragonology (and that book was good!)! The pictures were so beautiful that I almost cried! This book is just cool and interesting, well, it's just My 8year old sister loved it so much, she wanted to SLEEP with it! I also loved how the author just made it a book that I just didn't want to put down! TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS, THIS IS A MUST BUY Review: Beautiful book! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is full of the most beautiful artwork and inspirational for children to believe in the unbelievable. What a great way to look at the world around us. Our children are learning about gardens and trees, looking at every detail in search of fairy evidence! They want to know the names of the trees and flowers in our garden and it's caught on like wildfire in the neighborhood. My daughters are composing full page letters to the fairies and (with great faith and patience)upon occasion recieve a note back!
Book Review: Captivating Summary: 5 Stars
All I have to say is this:
1. I presented this book to two birthdays girls at their 6th birthday party.
2. Shortly thereafter 25 little boys and girls forgot all the other toys and games on offer.
3. Shortly after that their father had to wade into a crowd of kindergarteners and rescue the book from 50 little cake-smeared hands all trying to explore its pages.
4. I heard no fewer than four kids ask their parents for their own copies of "purple fairy book."
