Book Reviews of Fairy Houses (The Fairy Houses Series)Book Review: wonderful Summary: 5 Stars
I chose this book for my six- and four-year-old stepdaughters; they love fairies so I suspected it would be a hit. What I didn't expect was that my eleven-year-old stepson was also fascinated by the book and proceeded to serve as the primary architect for the fairy houses that all three built! I'm always happy to find something that spurs a creative family activity, so this was perfect. My husband and I also loved the artwork. I'm pleased to find out that this is a series, so I'll be looking for more of the titles.
Book Review: The Architecture of Imagination Summary: 5 Stars
As host of Hollywood Squares and America's Funniest Videos I could be accused of biting the hand that feeds me, but I've got a great reason to turn off the television. "Fairy Houses" is a wonderful way to get your kids to engage their imagination and explore the wonder of their own backyards. Both my daughters have built their own fairy houses using the suggestions in the book. Tracy Kane's imaginative story and beautiful illustrations provide a perfect bedtime story and next day adventure.
Book Review: Imagination and magic... Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter received the video about this book as a gift a couple of years ago - it has been a favorite. I finally bought the book and she was thrilled just as much with it. It's not often that a book sparks something in a child that drives them outside to be in nature, but this book does. This is an extremely unique book with fabulous text and art work. It is our all-time favorite, most inspirational childrens book!
Book Review: Summer Fun Summary: 5 Stars
What a beautiful and wonderful book for both my 7yr. old and 9 yr. old. They visited in Maine this summer and we went to a hiking trail and fairy walk on Orrs Island. They both built lovely fairy houses and had such fun. AS in the book, they were very careful in using only natural objects found ON the ground. The story was lovely and the art work spectacular.Any child would love this book.
Book Review: Absolutely enchanting Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this book to read with my two daughters, 5 and 6 years old. They couldn't take their eyes off it. They were especially interested in the fact that the fairies will only live in houses built from natural items. That reinforced the focus my husband and I have put on respecting and appreciating nature.
We loved the section at the end on how to build the fairy houses.
