Book Review: Short, to the point, and worth reading.
Summary: 4 Stars
There is so much to be said about this book, so I will try to simplify my thoughts. I recommend reading this book for a few reasons: It is a synopsis of the life and time of George Washington, one of most significant figures in history. Additionally, it is short enough to capture and hold the attention of the people interested in the topic, but who don't have a lot of time to read. Finally, it is important to understand the past in order to fully explain and account for the present. Reading this book may enable some a fuller appreciation for our rights and our country. This book is broken down into segments that are easy to read, straightforward, and interesting. Many ideas that are presented, such as Washington's education, I feel can be disputed with high-quality research. To the author's credit, he does a fantastic job of presenting Washington in a light often done by historians to create a favorable position. Although for me, historical facts must be checked continually to ensure accuracy. Quite simply, this book is pretty good. I personally enjoyed the section called, "Patriarchs and Masters." All in all, this is a good read, quick, and enlightening to some measure.
