Book Reviews of Energy Medicine: The Scientific BasisBook Review: Scholarly exploration of the science of vibrational healing Summary: 5 Stars
This text is packed with information and scientific research related to energy medicine, which overlaps with the subjects of vibrational & spiritual healing. As a Reiki healer, I experience electromagnetic sensations routinely, and have no doubt that the flow of energy directed by mind and spirit alters the electromagnetic fields that surround and permeate the body. It's nice to see that there are researchers documenting effects with modern equipment and developing theories that explore holistic, open-systems of life processes. The only things I would like to see to make this book better would be additional research examples, including the work of people like Reich & Rife. Richard Gerber has written a couple excellent books on these subjects, and his books are more affordably priced, so I'd recommend those texts for those working from a limited budget. Nevertheless, this book is a solid text and reference for those validating energy medicine or seeking to gain a deeper understanding of how these methods work.
Book Review: A must for al energy therapists Summary: 5 Stars
This book is frankly amazing! I devoured it from begining to end and it's the sort of book you have to read several time to get the full benefit of all the information in it.
It presents a rational, scientific, no-nonsense view of energy medicine outlined in a an unbiased objective way. What really stands out is that all the facts stated are backed up by research papers listed at the end of each chapter so that all claims made can be investigated by checking out those research papers. Also, what amazed me is that the research quoted in the book comes from well known scientists, Nobel Prize winners etc.
Basically, what Oschman is saying is that all the facts are out there and available to anyone who cares to take a look. Anyone reading this book with an open mind will have no doubt that energy is a valid form of healing. An ideal book for teachers looking to present a rational approach to explaining how energy works.
Well done!
Book Review: A remarkable overview Summary: 5 Stars
I have just received this remarkable book, skimmed it, and rate it highly already, in spite of the poor opinion Mr. Budnkik formed of it. As it states "this is a work in progress," but its value is in outlining a large number of invetigations of the field of energy and healing, too many to explore exhastively, but each chapter is accompanied by a list of references, mostly to the scientific literature to permit further study. My life experience includes the National Academy of Science, Rockefeller University, and 30 years as Executive VP of the New York Heart Association. I am neither naive, nor gullible.
Book Review: New Directions for Scientific and Heart-centered Medicine Summary: 5 Stars
Every chapter of this well-written and thoroughly researched book will excite the inquiring mind. The author has written about highly technical new research in a readable and engaging manner. The material describes research of recent decades that will revolutionize future healing methods. The 21st century will be the century of energy medicine, without abandoning biochemical methods. Dr.Oschman has explored the scientific basis for many so-called complementary healing methods, such as Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Polarity Therapy. It is a seminal book that will be read and discussed for many years to come.
