Book Reviews of Enemies Foreign and DomesticBook Review: Thrilling and compelling read about the 2nd amendment Summary: 5 Stars
Enemies Foreign & Domestic is a compelling, fictional novel about liberty and the 2nd amendment. It is packed with real life issues right out of today's headlines and it covers the political views and aspirations on both sides of the issue, while making it very clear that the unalienable right to self defense as enumerated in the 2nd amendment of the U.S. constitution, is endowed upon all citizens. That is something that every American should understand. It is also just a good, old-fashioned, barnstorming novel that you can't put down. One that has very real characters, each with their own talents and deficiencies who are brought together in the story in extraordinary circumstances. Matthew Bracken has hit one out of the park with this novel.
Book Review: A great read Summary: 5 Stars
I particularly enjoyed this book for a myriad of reasons. Some of them including the fact that I am from Virginia and enjoy spending time on the Chesapeake boating(both which are discussed much in the book), then there's the guns, and just the overall story.
As soon as I picked it up, I knew I would love it. I read parts of it on the way to see family Christmas eve, I hated having to put it down! I wanted to read more and more rather than talk to them.
I am currently reading Molon Labe and it does not hold a candle to this book, I can only hope Unintended Consequences can fill the void until his next book comes out.
Buy it, read it, and read it again! Send a copy to your Representatives and Senators too!
Book Review: Fantastic book, frighteningly real premise Summary: 5 Stars
I actually finished reading this last year, but just now finished the whole series, so here's the review: This was a fantastic book! Matthew Bracken is a great storyteller and has woven together a political statement, counter-insurgency manual, novel, history lesson and a dire warning about freedom - all in one book. I couldn't get enough, and I hated putting it down when I was done. Aside from a great story with very well-developed characters, the book contains a well-thought out premise with a number of plausible outcomes...things like the FIST teams, to name one. It provides a scary look at what our future may hold if we are not careful, but it actually holds your interest at the same time. Well done!
Book Review: Soon to be Non-Fiction if.... Summary: 5 Stars
This book is an excellent insight to what the future holds if the POS Democrats and Liberals get their way. The book takes you on a ride of every emotion you could possibly feel. Yes, there are some slow spots but hey, there are very few books that don't have. I think Matt is an excellent writer and a true American of the first order. The prologue says it all, what the book is going to be about and the exciting ride it's going to take you on. This is the first book I've read by Matthew Bracken and I am definitely going to read his others. I highly recommend this book and without reading his others books, I can honestly say, I'll probably recommend them too. Thanks Matt, for the great reading. Rick
Book Review: A surprise ending Summary: 5 Stars
Even though I enjoyed this book very much and looked ahead a few times, its ending caught me by surprise. This book touches the heart of any patriot who detest the rush of government control of every aspect of our lives. To be sincere one has to admit there is a great deal of difference between what the selfless service of 9/11 versus Waco and Ruby Ridge. This is played out in the story with the different LEO's attitudes and morals.
While reading I couldn't help feel that Tom Clancy might have helped with the writing. That is a compliment. This is a good story and I'll admit to staying up way too late a few times eagerly wanting to know what happened next.
