Book Reviews of Encyclopedia of Aquarium Plants

Book Review: A great plant book
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an excellent book, simple as that. It has information on not only plants, but many other important aspects of aquarium care. It has extensive information on how plants work in the natural habitat, in the aquarium, and how to care for them.

Everything is simple and concise and explained well, the images are great and show exactly what they should. How to trim different plants, how to plant them, how to get rid of algae and making a balance of nutrients in the aquarium and so on. Just examples of what it covers, if you have an aquarium and have plants and just want to know what to do to keep your plants healthy, just get this book.

Book Review: Outstanding!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this book to learn some up to date info on freshwater aquarium plants in hopes of creating some biotope style aquariums. I have been an aquarist for 45 years and have owned my own aquarium store back in the 70s. Once receiving the book and just glancing through it I was completely amazed at not only its excellent treatment of the main subject but also the abundance of fantastic info on practically all aspects of setting up & maintaining a successful aquarium. If anyone is just starting out with aquariums & wanted to buy just one book about the subject I would suggest they buy this book. You will not be disappointed!

Book Review: I found it the best
Summary: 5 Stars

I find this book is simply all the beginner or the intermediate aquarist need to setup and menage very well a planted aquarium. It is really very beautifull colorfull and pleasing. All the information is very clear with no technical or difficult scientific notation but covering deeply all the important aspects of aqurium plants. And the book is too easy that even a non english speaker like me that am a brazillian can read with little efort. If you don't have a one i highly recommend. You surelly will purchase all the other books of this autor after pass your eyes thorought that.

Book Review: Great book for everyone
Summary: 5 Stars

This book has great deal about setting up an ideal planted tank. Everything from water, lighting, substrate, to filtration, this book covers it all. It even has a section with some ideal tank setups for many different conditions. The second section contains plant information for many species, including lighting requirements, water conditions, and ease of keeping, as well as other useful information. This book also lists some "plant friendly" fish, good for deciding which fish to keep in your tank. A great guide to have around for beginning and experienced hobbyists alike.

Book Review: Best aquarium book I've owned
Summary: 5 Stars

I strongly recommend this book as a first and comprenhensive source to the subject. No single book will provide all of the significant body of knowledge a beginner aquarist needs to learn to succesfully start on this demanding but rewarding hobby. Having said that, this book is an excellent introduction to the art/science of the freshwater planted aquarium. The book is hardcover with good quality paper and beautiful color pictures. If you decide to keep things simple (hardy plants and fishes) it might even be the only book on aquarium plants you need.
