Book Reviews of Emergency: This Book Will Save Your Life

Book Review: Good read
Summary: 5 Stars

So it took me approximately less than a 8-9 hrs to read this book. I could not put it down. I work for the govt., I work on secure issues, and I can say allot of his thoughts in this book, allot of us feel. One of the things I got was there are people who think, and people who do. People who do increase there chance of survival. Second, there is a difference between running from danger, and running to it. And I would say the authors growth through this book is something inspiring and insightful. Sooner or later a disaster of some sort is going to happen, and then what you know and how well you are prepared will be the difference between survival and death.

Book Review: Alarming, entertaining, ultimately hopeful
Summary: 5 Stars

What a great, fun read!
Enjoyed this from beginning to end. I was led on a roller coaster of emotions as the author's journey seems at times fruitless, paranoid, alarmist and at the end promising.
This is the 'Groundhog Day' for the survivalist set, as the author moves from egotistical self-preservation to self-actualized efforts to help others and ultimately raise himself up.
Make sure to throw a copy in your BOB. It will be a fun read around the campfire WTSHTF.
Ultimately it comes down to 'Be prepared' and 'Make sure to put your mask on before attempting to help others with theirs'

Book Review: Gotta read it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I read The Game and found Neil's writing hard to put down. I expected the same from this book, and it delivered. Girls, don't think this is just a guy's handbook to survival. And guys, you'll want to man-up and get prepared to survive and provide for your loved ones. It's a fascinating several year journey from fear to self-sufficient, and the personal revelations that were realized along the way. It has actually inspired me to go volunteer in my community CERT program.
The illustrations are well done, they worked well with the book and added another dimension to it.
What a fun cover!

Book Review: Expecting the Unexpected
Summary: 5 Stars

I grew up in the country and knew a few of the things he learned. I also took the MSF course for motorcycle riding and remember dropping my bike as well (I was a first timer). Also learning about survival the way he did would have been a wild adventure.

The book gave me a bunch of great ideas on how to survive WTSHTF. I plan on taking my CERT class as soon as I can.

Great book and well worth it. Hopefully I never have to use it, but I know where to turn if it gets that bad.

Thanks for a great read and the inspiration.

Book Review: Where do you get your protein?
Summary: 5 Stars

An entertaining and honest examination of what it can take to survive in emergency situations. Neil begins his story as the average, city-dwelling, system-dependent, gonna-die-in-the-food-riots modern human being but, after several years around people who make casual references to unsettling protein sources, develops the skillset to survive, independently, in a variety of landscapes from desolate wilderness to teeming cityscape. A very good read, although there is an occasional desire to put the book down and hoard MREs.
