Book Reviews of Emergency: This Book Will Save Your LifeBook Review: Emergency + The Game = How to be James Bond Summary: 5 Stars
Seriously Neil we get it you are now the real life James Bond. If only you were British. Your last book the game focused on how to meet women. This one is about driving motor-cycles and shooting guns at the same time. The only thing he still needs is a jet-pack. I mean one of his friends in the book has a submarine in Iceland.
This book really drew me in and I finished it in about a week reading it at lunch time every day. I got the first few sample chapters via Tim Ferriss's blog. The free chapter I read online about getting a 2nd Passport from St. Kitt's was great. Maybe that was more Jason Bourne than James Bond though. That is so cool to get a 2nd passport.
I like the quick chapters and I dog eared about 10 pages. It also made me take a look at what I should be doing to become more prepared for crisis. Stock up on water now if you read this. When you think about it Neil should just combine this book with his previous effort to make a book on how to become a super spy. Starting fires, picking locks its all in here.
Book Review: Another page turner by Neil Strauss Summary: 5 Stars
I first found out about Neil Strauss from his book The Game, which I couldn't put down and was an amazing read. The success of that book created (or at least legitimized) an entire Pick Up industry.
Once again Neil re-creates himself and add to his skillset. Self improvement is more than a hobby to him, it seems like an addiction. I just wonder what his next area of self improvement will be, though I'm sure there will be another book in 3 years and then I'll read all about it.
The book is similar to The Game in that it is very short, extremely readable chapters that keep making you want to learn more and more. You learn a good bit of practical information, and as always Neil shows you his shortcomings and weaknesses that make him such a relatable guy.
You should definitely grab Emergency if you are interested in a broad range of survival tactics that will challenge what you think you know necessary kills, or if you're just interested in a man's story of transformation.
Book Review: Interesting Reading Summary: 5 Stars
This is the first Strauss book I've read, and it made me want to read all of his books. He has an intriguing writing style that makes one feel a part of the story.
Most of us are scared for our country and our economy right now, and this book plays on and responds to those fears. Strauss starts the book out talking about how to get out if and when TSHTF. Anyone who's thought about what's happened here in the last 8 years has probably had similar concerns.
I didn't feel like he really gave us concrete info to use to survive unless we could afford the experts he uses.
What I love most about the book are the conclusions he comes to in the end, the stories about his girlfriend, and the little survival tips sprinkled throughout the stories.
The book is nearly impossible to put down, and I'll read it again when I finish "I will Teach You to be Rich" because I need more money if I'm going to get a back-up plan!
Book Review: Great Book: Informative, Interesting, Exciting Summary: 5 Stars
This book is amazing. Neil does a great job as usual. The random lessons drawn by Bernard Chang, like picking pad locks with soda cans and escaping in a car chase are awesome.
If you enjoy tales of the possible apocalypse and 101 ways to survive them then you'll devour this book.
If you enjoy learning about survival techniques then this book will point you in the right direction by giving you some basic lessons and the names of some great men who teach these arts.
If you want to learn about what it takes to get a second passport you'll find this book informative.
If you enjoy hearing the continuing adventures of Neil Strauss then you'll be entertained the whole way through.
I loved it. You will too.
Book Review: Funny - Informatative - Wake Up call! Summary: 5 Stars
Riveting, just like his previous best seller, The Game.
In The Game, Neil gave readers a peek into BOTH the methods and the madness of the Pick Up Artist world. He didn't glorify it, he didn't bash it, he reported on it in a way that was riveting.
Neil gives just enough how to, that you realize you are going to need training or assistance if you choose to prepare for the EMERGENCY. Good thing, because too many people assume since they read about a skill, that they have it.
And his stories are great. Funny. Inspiring. True to live.
Enjoy!
