As one of Ehrman Tapestry's best-selling designers, Elian McCready's work is colorful and larger than life, yet beautifully subtle. Included in this gorgeous book are designs that were previously only available in kit form, plus six completely new creations.The projects are worked in tent stitch and long stitch. Superb color charts and photographs make the instructions easy to follow. There's also invaluable advice on materials, stitching and making up.
Elian McCready is an artist working in textile embroidery. After gaining a BA in Fine Art and photography, she discovered the medium of pictorial woven tapestry. On winning the Winston Churchill Travel Fellowship in 1985, she visited Egypt and has remained strongly influenced by its colorful free woven tapestry murals. After a period working for Kaffe Fasset, Elian became self-employed and since 1991 has designed needlepoint kits for the renowned Ehrman Tapestry Company, establishing herself as one of their leading designers. She lives in Conwy, North Wales.
