Book Reviews of the Eeeee Eee EeeeCustomer Review: Good, not great Summary: 3 Stars
Tao's too free-wheeling and ultra-post-modern to make a novel work. Not that this book is bad. It's good ... maybe more like 3.25 stars. Still, it feels both forced and somehow restrained ... like he knew he had to write a N-ovel (note big "N") to be taken seriously, but would've been more at home w/ a more free-form structure. Tao's style and sensibility seem better suited to blogging, where he can (often not-so) randomly compile quick bits of wit and observation that add up to more than the sum of their parts. His blog, wildly amusing & entertaining, succeeds where this more conventional effort comes up a bit short.
