Book Reviews of Eating For Life

Book Review: Love the food!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book has great recipes and they are delicious! and to think that they are low in calories and high in protein and still taste good, it is great! I try to make as many meals as I can from this book and they come out great. The recipes are very easy to follow and the ingredients you can find in most grocery stores like Waltz,Jewels even walmart. Bill phillips recommends his shakes as a meal replacement option for a mid snack, and most need a meal replacement powder called Myoplex, I would say that you don't need to go to the store and buy a box of this replacement meal powder because it is not cheap you would have to really look around to find a good price. Theres other ready to drink shakes from the body for life book and those you can find at walmart for a good price for a pack of 4 and these are good and you can use as a meal replacement. You would have to get use the taste though, since it taste a little "weird" at least to me. overall the book is awsome it's a must buy!

Book Review: Great Eats!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've got to say - Bill Phillips and his sister did an awesome job on this book. Not only does Bill write clearly about the Eating for Life program, so that you can actually apply it to a real person (not someone who lives in a gym) but the recipes are delicious!
I love to cook, and never was satisfied with all those bland, pre-made diets; you know, boiled chicken, cottage cheese or eating a tablespoon of mayonaisse!? What was I thinking.
Anyway - BUY THE BOOK! I've lost 16 pounds in 6 weeks and already gone from wearing 40-inch waist jeans to 38-inch jeans and I feel great.
The two best things of Bill Phillips diet are, 1) SUNDAY - My free day is what gets me through the week. Knowing that I can have something I desire on Sunday is so freeing it allows me to stay on track during the week and 2) the diversity of recipies are so wide that I don't think my wife and I have ever eaten so well.
God bless Bill Phillips!

Book Review: Awesome!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been following the Body-for-Life program for a little over 7 months now. I have never been happier with my body, my overall health and my energy levels! Bill Phillips' program is amazing. I will never, ever go back to what my eating/exercise (or lack of) habits used to be.

I have already tried a few recipes from Eating-for-Life and they are so delicious! The portions are perfect and the meals come out absolutely delicious.

If you haven't started Body-for-Life, I recommend you do so as soon as possible.....and buy Eating-for-Life at the same time. It will only make it that much easier for you. You will never go back....this program is totally LIFE CHANGING.

If you HAVE started Body-for-Life, this book will only make you happier! You will enjoy cooking so much more and you will be so excited to keep moving forward on the path of healthy eating and living.

Buy Body-for-Life.

Buy Eating-for-Life. You won't regret it.

Book Review: learning how to cook
Summary: 5 Stars

Like everyone else responding to this book, I love it. What I like/found most helpful is the pictures of the products one buys to make the recipe. Seeing the picture of the kraft salad dressing and the chicken breasts right next to the recipe made me realize how illiterate I am in the kitchen. (There's probably a food word but when I saw the picture of the dressing next to the word dressing, I realized how I didn't know how to "read" recipes.) I live(d) on bachelor chow and these pictures, this book, taught me how to navigate through a grocery store and come out w/ a meal.

I hope this isn't a turn off review for those of you who already know how to cook. I am so, so grateful to this book which isn't a diet book at all but more like a cook book of real meals for a real life for a person who didn't know how to make a meal.

I actually found this book first. Guess I'd better go find his Body for Life book now!

Book Review: Eating for Life and Body for life
Summary: 5 Stars

What a great supplement for the BFL plan. My fiancee and I are currently doing BFL and this was a timely purchase.

Another reviewer complained about the 6 meals a day. I ride a desk as well and I speak from experience when I say that it just takes planning, which is one of the major aspects of the program, setting goals and laying your plans to achieve them.

You might not be able to bring your blender into work, but you can bring a $10 mixer (small, motorized with a whipping blade, purchasable at most GNCs or the like) to make a midday shake or by a box of EAS bars at <ENTER YOUR FAVORITE WAREHOUSE GROCERY HERE - ala SAMS>.

Bill lays it out as a trainer and advisor. He's not an author, he's a fitness and nutrition guru whose results speak for themselves.

Hokey? Maybe, but it seems that some people are looking for reasons to not succeed. I'm down from 247 to 198lbs, hokey or not.

Set goals, plan, succeed.
