Book Review: An Excellent Introduction To Origami

This book is a good introduction to anyone who is interested in exploring origami and what it has to offer. The models in this book can be done by anyone, even if they have never had any origami experience. The diagrams are clear, concise, and to the point. By constructing the models in this book, one not only can create various paper works such as fish, birds, boats, windmills, but also learns basic origami folds and techniques which are fundamental to more intermediate and advanced folding, if one wishes to continue in this discipline. I teach an art program for children. Of the many glamorous origami books that I've used with my students, this is the book they always want - the book they grab and fight over! In fact so many of my copies have disappeared that now I need to order more! The price is right which is another great thing about this book. The projects are organized in a logical manner starting easy and getting progressively harder. Teachers: I always start my students off with guided instruction on the first few lessons, then they are usually capable of managing on their own.Book Review: fun way to use your hands

Saw this and picked it up because I was curious and you can't go wrong for the price. A lot of fun and brought me back to the memories of doing this as a kid. And speaking or kids, mine love it. It's something that it not only relaxing to me, but that we can do together.
If you are looking for color, highly detailed photos, I would get another book. For a basic primer though, this can't be beat. I think it's a good one to see if you like Origami. If so, you can go to one of the more complicated (and expensive) books later.
Book Review: Excellent Beginner Book for Children

I purchased this book as part of a set for my 6 year old who liked folding paper airplanes and fortune tellers. He fell in love with it, and we did it for 2 hours straight on the first day. The directions were very step by step for him and he got used to it pretty easily.
After looking at other "easy origami" titles from the library, this is the best beginner book I have seen. My only challenge is to find something similar or maybe just a little harder for us to continue on with.

my amazon.com order total was at [...] and rather than pay for shipping, i added this book to my cart to qualify for free shipping! i was not disappointed. this book contains very basic origami projects. the book is in black and white with simple diagrams. while it is no-frills, my 6 year old and i have enjoyed making many of the projects together.
