Book Reviews of Driver #8

Book Review: A fabulous book
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is one of the best I have ever read. It is definitely a must read for any NASCAR fan, especially one that is a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. This book is extremely captivating, and I completed it in two days. There is not a bad spot in the book, although he does tend to focus on Bud Girls...there are hilarious moments in this novel, one of them being the 2000 Winston and it's tale about a man dressed as a giant Oreo. Although it was penned by Jade Gurss, you can tell that the stories are entirely Dale Jr.'s, and his personality comes shining through. You feel closer to him somehow after the completion of this book. Dale manages to use colorful language to his advantage; it's an easy read, but definitely makes you think. The photo inserts in the middle are a great addition, as is the epilogue covering the events of 2001 and how he coped with his father's death. He is very candid about everything, and it's refreshing. Overall: it's just a great, great book and can definitely be reread numerous times.

Book Review: Great book!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book was great. I enjoyed the descriptions of all of the tracks that Jr. raced at and how he talked to his dad and Matt Kenseth about things that were happening at any one moment. I also enjoyed hearing how him and Tony Jr. have such an honest relationship. They may yell at each other during a race on the radio, but after the race is over they are able to go back to being cousins/friends again. They leave it all on the racetrack. Very well written book! A must for any Jr. fan!

Book Review: Fun read
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is written in the first person, and it's sort of a diary of Dale Earnhardt Jr's 2000 Winston Cup season. It's funny, articulate, thoughtful and informative. I was really surprised at how well written it was. I know Jade Gurss helped write the book, but it really came out sounding authentic and true to how Junior presents himself. I highly recommend this for the diehard NASCAR fan as well as the novice...and watch out for motorized barstools. You'll see what I mean...

Book Review: Driver #8
Summary: 5 Stars

Driver #8 was a very very good and insightful book. With Dale explaining every race of his rookie year it really lets you get a good feeling about what nascar is really like. This book is one of the best books i have every read that has to do with racing. The book is very fast paced and easy to get started and know exactly what is going on. In my mind i give a big 5 stars.

Book Review: Great book
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is a great read, regardless of whether you're a Junior fan or not. It shows what a typical rookie year is like in the world of Nascar. It's funny, true to life, and is written as if Junior, himself, is telling you the story. Great book, must have!
