Book Review: WHY BOTHER WITH A BOOK AT ALL?

I have found Dragon Naturally Speaking 9 (Preferred) to be significantly worse than its predecessor Dragon 8. For example, it seems to be incapable of recognizing the simple word "are" and often opens the "double page" format when the single word "the" is inserted in the text.All in all, Nuance speech recognition devices are very useful but discredited by sloppy errors which, with a bit of effort by the company, could surely be speedily resolved. Meanwhile, what is the point of an expensive CD book to tell people how to use something that is already causing problems for current users ? Translator colleagues of mine have told me they have encountered similar irritating drawbacks with this programme. JOHN PENNEY
