Book Review: Realistic Tale with Plenty of Adventure
Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a little disappointed in reading some of the reviews from people that are upset that Auron is a Dragon... that acts like a Dragon. Yes, he kills Hominids in parts of the book, but it's all part of his survival. He's a scale-less young dragon with no family and no one to help him survive. Is it so upsetting that during some of his struggles for food, the only source was a human? In addition, as Auron develops and befriends hominids (even going so far as adopting one!), he hunts elsewhere.
The story was full of thrill, and was never predictable. I was a little worried when I picked it up, as I am a 21 year old female, and this didn't quite seem like my type of book at all. Even as I reflect about the slightly gory first couple chapters, I'm somewhat amazed that my attention was unyielding. This I credit all to the author. He makes things realistic. Sometimes bad things happen in life, and this is the story of Auron doing everything in his power to survive.
Furthermore, I know a book must really be amazing if I'm not even a third of the way through the book when I order the rest of the series online. (Which I'm glad I did, because I didn't wait 3 minutes to crack open the 2nd book of the series after finishing the first!)
To summarize: Even if this doesn't look like anything that you would ever pick up, DO IT! I did, and I definitely don't regret it

After escaping those who killed his siblings, Young Auron, a rare, defenseless gray dragon, fears he might be the last of his breed. Armed with nothing but his claws and a boundless determination to survive, he sets off in search of his kind. But to find other dragons-or, at least, find out who's killing them off-Auron will have to search a world of mercenary elves, vicious humans, and dangers of all kinds.
