Book Reviews of Dr. Nicholas Romanov's Pose Method of RunningBook Review: Pose Tech works, the book could be much shorter and better Summary: 2 StarsI am a 36 years old recreational runner/marathoner. I found out about Pose method by accident browsing the net some time ago. I stumbled upon Mr. Romanov's website, and was quite impressed by the promise of injury free running.
After buying/reading the book I have to say, that it is poorly written, full of typos, and the first 100 pages or so are there only to sell the Pose method, which is beyond the point really, as I already bought an expensive paperback. I guess it could be condensed into 20 pages max.
Having said that, the book made me think, and the method works. Yes, there is a real increase in speed and cadence without much perceived effort, however there must be strength training and stretching that goes with it should I want to switch 100% to pose method.
To sum it up - it should be a very expensive brochure rather than a book full of filler material. Thats a letdown. BUT IT WORKS. I would recommend this book to a friend.

Book Review: Running is a SKILL!!! Summary: 5 StarsMake no mistake, this book is a difficult read, but worth your time and money. Better than anything else out there, it will address your technique issues and give you a solid path to correcting your form errors. You need both this and the video (I know, it's expensive, but do you want to be pain free or not?) Don't give up either.... what looks simple take time and patience (We are talking about changing something youv'e been doing without thought since childhood!) but will pay off in the long run with enjoyable, effortless and painfree running like you have never experienced.
Book Review: Poorly written, of little use to me Summary: 1 StarsI felt this book was poorly written. The author uses the first 130 pages explaining how he came up with his technique and trying to convince you that his technique is the best. Then spends only 10 confusing pages to explain how to actually use the pose technique to run. After that its pages and pages of drills and stretches to condition you to use the pose technique. I didn't find it useful at all. I don't doubt that the pose technique would be an improvement to my running. I just coldn't learn it from this book. Instead I went to Danny Dreyer's Chi Running. Essentially the same thing with a much better written text. Happy Running THB
Book Review: Running Free Summary: 5 StarsThis book rescued an entire Summer's training for me.
I carried bad running injuries [pulled thigh, torn calf] for months that I couldn't shake off, and had all but abandoned a planned marathon. I couldn't go more than 2 miles.
I was recommended the book and read it cover to cover. It is clear to follow, and most important....IT WORKS. Run right and use the right muscles, run injury free!
2 days ago [just 14 days after getting the book] I cruised Philadelphia marathon at 8:30/mile. In fact, I ran the last 6 miles at 7:30 pace as I was confident then that I was going to make it.
Now I recommend this great book to everyone! I will never forget what it gave me.
Book Review: Easier on my joints & muscles; simple technique Summary: 5 StarsI'll never run with my old technique again.
