Book Reviews of Dr. Bob's Guide to Stop ADHD in 18 DaysBook Review: Saving my family Summary: 5 Stars
Applying the principles learned in this book have saved the lives of my children. My boys have multiple medical conditions which are all neurologically based. I must admit, that I did not initially read this book because of the title. While my boys were initially diagnosed during elementary years with ADHD, their diagnosis then evolved during their teenage years; one into Bi-Polar type 1 and my other son into chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. With encouragement from Dr. Bob I read this book and realized the title of this book should really reflect any neurologically based health problem. Dr.Bob's plan seems so simple I wondered how it could compete with the recommendations from their team of specialists at a highly rated pediatric hospital. In about 3 weeks of starting the plan, our lives have been dramatically improved. I see my boys making amazing progress every day, and they are moving toward total wellness. Dr. Bob is a hero to us, and I wish we had followed his plan sooner!
Book Review: Stop the drugs! Summary: 5 Stars
Hello my son was told he was ADHD and took the Ritilin and other forms of the drug, but the side effects were terrible and I couldn't handle the head aches, upset stomaches and not wanting to eat! So I felt there was someone else out there that can help these children get off the drugs. My son was worth the help I could find, my mother saw an article on Dr.Bob's book, "how to stop ritalin in 18 days", so i got the book, than had to meet him, Dr.Bob. My son is know on vitiamns, eating healthier and getting his spine back into shape. He is more calmer and doing well in school. Its not easy but our childern are worth it, for me its better to see him happy than sick on the drugs. The books are a good sorce of information in guiding them(the children) into teaching our kids how to eat healthy and to be aware of what they are eating, and what it can do to them. They need to be educated now and forever, this will help them well into the families.Thank You, Dr. Bob and God Bless You,as you continue!
Book Review: Great resource Summary: 5 Stars
I have a very busy three year old boy. I wouldn't consider him a.d.d., but I have had a very difficult time getting him to eat the kind of foods that will be beneficial to him. There would be major tantrums and hours spent fighting at the dinner table. Emotionally it was very difficult for me. I read Dr. Bob's book and started making some big changes in my son's diet. Keaton was drinking over a gallon of milk a week. I cut way back on dairy (one yogurt a day limit and no milk) and I limited the amount of sugar and boxed food he was eating. I was amazed at the changes. My son started trying things that I never was able to get him to eat like vegetables, apples, and ham sandwiches. It still takes him a while to eat his dinner, but there are no tantrums involved. He is happier and doesn't have the same amount of night wakings when I regement his diet. It takes a strong parent to do this, but it is worth it. Great book Dr. Bob.
Book Review: Finally an Answer!!! Summary: 5 Stars
As a school administrator for the past twenty years I have worked with scores of students and the parents of students diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. In nearly every case I have observed environmental issues to be the hidden and neglected factors contributing to student behavior issues. Frankly, it is easier to give the child a pill as opposed to examine personal lifestyle issues for stressed families. At the same time I have felt that this has been compounded by the medical/pharmacological community that has been profitting without getting to the root of the problem. Dr. Robert DeMaria has finally written a logical, easy to understand answer. I have been so impressed with this book I have been giving it to principals, school nurses, psychologists, and parents! On a final note, my family and I have benefitted from the dietary recommendations personally. This book is for everyone!
Book Review: More than a book on ADHD! Summary: 5 Stars
Although I have never suffered from ADHD, this book paved the way to understanding the impact of sugar on my body. By eliminating sugar (as much as possible), incorporating flaxseed and flax oil into my diet, reducing stress and receiving regular chiropractic care, I have truly transformed my life. Gone are the irregular periods that plagued me for over 25 years, gone are the severe menstrual cramps and mood swings, gone are the fears of having to have a hysterectomy - all without having to take a single drug or pill that many doctors recommended. I can't thank Dr. Bob enough for helping me realize that I needed to take responsibility for my own health, educate myself and listen to my body. This book will provide many suggestions for improving your health naturally - the decision to follow them and enjoy a healthier life is yours.
