I've read other books that 'Recount the adventures of a lost Explorer' (It is a time honored plot.)
This book stands out not just because of the story, or even the pictures (Which are amazing.) But due to the small details the Author/Artist use to make the whole picture seem more... real.
The fact that they took the time to point out these details (Such as Dino-Droppings the Erosion effect of a Waterfall City and an alphabet for creatures with no thumbs.) make the whole thing shine so much clearer, these are usually details that we 'The Reader' simply file away as unneeded to the 'Plot' but in pointing them out it makes the whole picture so much... More.
You get to see these two 'Adventurers' grow so much in there time in Dinotopia that it is definitely worth the time, energy and money to get this.
